Cats 2stroke beyond 2011?

Wondering if cats current smokers pass 2012 epa standards, if not then are they history or is it still a fleet average beyond 2012? Does suzuki have anything that is direct-injected now out-board motors etc?

My best guess would be the 1000 will be done after 2011. Its way to dirty and will be replaced with the Z1turbo. With enough clean 4 strokes they should be able to keep the fleet clean enough to keep the M8 around for a couple more years.

false,

The m1000 is no different than the m8 and has kept them in the market because of the hp numbers. Now the m8 is pushing those numbers so you would think it would over ride the m8. well with just a pipe a m1000 completely beats any hp #'s from a two stroke let alone if they revamp the motor. From what I heard the epa restrictions where on hold(due the reason yami is sueing) I could be wrong on that, But I am 99% sure the 1000 will still rock on.

2012 look for changes

There will be some new iron on the hill. They will still have the two strokes but you will see more 4 strokes for sure. I can almost guarantee a 4 stroke turbo mountain sled in new chase. Cats 50Th year Anniversary also.

With the global warming debacle, all the oems should sue the epa. If the reason for all the BS emissions is to prevent green house gasses I think they have a case that I would love to see in the supreme court.

Z1 will not be the new mountain sled of the future. you think the M sleds dont slow down or stop very well coming down a hill?? Try coming down a hill on the Z1!! you will come down faster than going up. To heavy without out enough power. Then again maybe they will continue to make 2 strokers for Canada..... and I will be alright with that.
