Cat prices....

it only took 1 season for you to come back!!!!!!! LMAO. So what was it???? The motor, the clutches or the fact that they don't side hill unless there is three feet of pow......

I think Blindman said he wouldn't ride with him any longer if they couldn't get matching flo org jackets!! Or he's tired of not digging himself out.....:beer;:D:eek:

Well, two seasons, actually. Damn near 4000 miles. But, a combination of all three issues, I guess.

Motor: A cracked block after getting crazy hot with a stuck thermostat (I think). Got hot enough to melt the knock sensor to the head. Temp gauge never read hot and it never went into limp mode. Who knows? Can't complain about a complete long block under warranty at 3500 miles. Kudos to Webb Motorsports in Eburg.

Clutches: Even with a decent clutch setup, I've never had a sled where I had to pull the primary apart after every other ride. Button o-rings, spring cap bushings, sheave bushings that are damn near impossible to replace but need it after 500 miles, etc. $140 dollar belts. Clutch heat. Blah, blah. Yeah, they rock when you have the right pin weight for the right clicker for the right conditions, but.....

Sidehilling: The XP chassis rocks for deep pow and technical riding. I can crawl around on and off the throttle like nothing else. I love being up over the skis in this chassis. But, I don't care what you say, this chassis isn't as 'fun' as the newer M-chassis unless there is 2 feet of fresh. The M8 takes way less rider input.

I'm not totally sold yet. I know I can get a great deal on a leftover '09 XP. It depends what I can find a 2010 Cat for in December or January.

oh ya... Cats... I would keep watching the classifieds. There was a couple 09's that sold very cheap with 300 miles on them. If I hadn't just bought a trailer and had the house for sale I would have bought one......
