Carrying a pistol

I'm going to be buying a new "Kevlar" Riding jacket and pants...also going to put a "Kevlar" wrap around my sled:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap
We don't have "Somali Pirates on snowmobiles now...DO WE ???

Ran into a moose calf with a leg literally swinging around just above the joint. Would have tried to put him down if one of us was packing...snow was DEEEEEP and I'm sure he didn't last very long.

It is not about Need, as much as want and can. I have enjoyed some target plinking after emptying my hot lunch out of the hot dogger. A few magazines through the pistol is more fun than sitting around drinking a brew for me.

Good thing I don't carry,I might have been tempted to put my sled out of it's misery a time or two.

If attacked by a wild squirrel, I would wish I had one. Pack while sleddin??? WTF for in my opinion. I know guys that pack going to church. LOL. false sense of security. I don't own a bunch of guns and have never had the need to feel that insecure.

I carry tools too. Just like the pistol, hope I never need them.

Sledding, dirt biking, hiking, MTN biking, going to South Center Mall or even walking back to the car from a game in Seattle, my family or friends will not be a victim.
My house is also protected by Jack Russells.

And THAT folks, is why Colorado is turning Californian.

No offense sir, but trying to insult others for exercising their rights, and most likely, protecting the very rights you sneer at, is kinda petty. Strange how attitudes like yours all of a sudden have no place in reality when reality actually hits. Let me guess: you're family gets mugged (robbed, assaulted, victimized, whatever) and you'll do what? "Sir, I'm not insecure, so just STOP that. Pleeeease".

Seriously, not saying you should carry. But berating others because they do? Kudo's to you though, for obviously having the capability for seeing when and where trouble might occur. Me, I don't have that super power. The only thing I've been gifted with is the capability of learning that I DON'T know when or where or who or why or how, bad things might come.

Carry on.....

I had a friend use his so i could locate him 3 shots and you can really get a good idea of where someone is but a word to the wise cougars dont hibernate ive seen them up at reecer creek in feb so remenber that the next time you are eating lunch and an old young hungary kitty decides your lunch.I try to believe that people are basicly good but experience and the news has taught me different

X2! My house is protected by a Mother of two with a shotgun. Lookout!

LOL now that would be the WRONG house to break into!! If she is anything like my mom, it would be a shoot first, ask questions later type of deal!!

As for packin' while I ride, I always do. And you know why? Not because of 'protecting' myself but because if I get stranded in the hills, I would just as soon have a gun to help me find something to eat. Where I ride it's a rare occurence that you dont see some sort of live animal on a ride and I would eat any one of them in a pinch.

That and the hills are full of cougars...and I will gladly shoot any one of those guys that I can come across!

Jake
