i not too thrilled to put another CFI motor in but i LOVE the chassis so i am thinking about puttin a carbed motor in. what did you do about an air box? fuel pick up? clutch alignment? gearing clutching? pipes etc. im just lookin into this before i really dive into it. any pics or info would really help out a lot!

thanks in advance!

You want a cfi motor carbed or older big block in the sled? My son has a 2007 600 rmk with a 2005 800 rmk ves motor. It uses a Slp single pipe especially for that application , power addiction motor plate , carb air pods. Everything else is pretty straight forward.

Hope this helps. If you want better pics let me know. The only issues with this swap is you will have to modify a stock airbox to fit, or just run pods. And you will have to notch a bit for clearance for the oil pump(minor), and cdi reprogramming if you want to use the factory gauges and harness

if i had the $$ i would buy one of my friend's 903's and slap that in but i gotta go cheap...damn college tuition is bull**** lol. a 910 would be fun too....or better yet a cuttler 1150 lol

Same thing has crossed my mind. My motor looks exactly like yours now. Found used motors around 2000 but don't wanna buy someone elses basket case. Think I'm gonna try and salvage the crank and piece together a new motor then sell the sled.

yeah im kinda torn between the two....a stocker will drop right in and should run good and be reliable if the tollerances are good...if i get another one i WILL be going through the whole thing and doing "the fix". these guys are on the right track and by the sounds of it they WORK....but i dont want to buy a $2k motor off ebay and take it apart and find the cyl skirts cracked or some **** then have to repair AND add the fix...

but a carbed motor would run good, parts are readily avaliable, simple and easy to work on. but you need a motor plate, pipes, carbs, clutch, gauges, wire it and some other little things you wont think of till u need it. say you find a complete motor for 2grand. motor plate is $175, pipes are 800 from Poweraddiction, egt tach and water temp gauge is about 400 then ya gotta figure clutching and other misc. stuff...before you know it your $3500 bucks into it....kind of a toss up btwn reliability and saleability
