Carb help

if we want to switch out the 02 carbs on an 800, would it be better to put in a set from 01 or 03?

Do we need to do anything else or will they work as is?

We are thinking of doing this to improve mpg on the 02

If you go with the 03-05s you won't need a different dpm manifold. I think 01 used 4 small hoses. 02 has 2 small hoses to Carbs.

The 02 dpm manifold was the same as the 01. The 03 had a smaller dpm manifold.The 03 & up carbs had hooded jets and are a better carb. I went to 03 carbs on my 02 (But I went all the way gauges,mepm,etc) . I think that the 03 dpm has a different pulg for the mepm but I can check if needed. I think it has 2 hoses from the carbs insteaded of 4 hoses .

03-05 carbs would be the best but the MPEM timing curve was junk in 02. If you want it to run like a 03 send it out and have it reflashed to 03 MPEM specs.

Can a local Doo dealer re flash it or does it have to go to factory?
