is anyone running an after market can on the rktek kit?

what have you had luck with?

i realize kelsey suggest runnning the stock pipe and can, but i would like get rid of the extra weight on the stock can

thanks

have some patience. Kelsey is testing a few can designs made for mod engines. He will be releasing his results soon including a custom made can.

Same here, I would like to ditch the stock can, like the drop in kit. My stock can is starting to come apart. Good on Kelsey to test a can...Dino

I've talked to Kelsey a bit about this. The can he is working on is the SuperQ or UltraQ cans. Says they are the only ones he has worked with that do not lose power. The difference between the two cans is how loud they are. I cant remember which is which, but one is 85db (very close to stock) and the other is 95db. Also the louder can is .5lb less weight and costs about $50 less than the quiet one. WPS has them on backorder right now and should get a shippment right after Christmas, or you can order direct from the manufacturuer.

Thnx

thanks for the info guys

sounds like my patience will pay off in the long run

is there a web sight for the SUPER/ULTRA Q cans ?

here is the deal.. i have a rkt 827 and have been wanting to put a can on my sled .. talked to Kelsey and he said that his kits do not work well with any aftermarket cans but he was testing the ultra Q and superQand is hoping for good results.. here is the catch , the other cans would not work because of to much restriction, BUT guess what?? the part # on the ultraQ and superQ is exactly the same for a 800 ho a 800R and a 600ho .. it is on sno skinz website.. not sure but i think that a can for a 600 ho is supposed to be a little tighter than a modded 800,,unless some body has feeding us a line about what cans to use.. just my humblest observations lmfao..;)

I have three of his kits 766,827,860 tried the pipe off of the 800 and 600 on the 766 on the Dyno no difference never tried on the hill using the 600 pipe. I run 766 Dynoport,827 thing,860 jaws not sure up or down on power on any of these not easy to compare need people like RKTek to tell us what is best sure hope he has some cans out soon, what about a pipe for these , is there any proven ones?

I put turbo Als' THING can on my 827 and gained 2 clickers on my clutch. I was really just hoping for par, trying to save weight and make room but I was stoked with the results.

I run an Ultra Q on my 827 as Kelsey recomends. Runs good. I have never run my 827 with the stock setup so can't speak to that.

Why do you think that you would have gained 2 clickers by changing the can??? any insight as to why???

I took 25#'s off my sled too, but I had it dialed @7800 then changed the can and took off the weight. The next ride it was hitting around 8100. I felt like the can and the weight just gave me that much extra power. 2 clicks brought me back to where I needed to be.

You do know that the 827 is designed to run at 8300-8400 rpms don't you? If not you do now
