Can i move my rear mount 2 a front mount

now i could very well be wrong but and i don't own a apex.
is the exhaust pipe going to the turbo exposed to snow?

if so i would try to insulate that pipe and the exhaust housing befor moving the turbo to the front. a turbo works on the idea of gasses expanding while going through the turbine. so if on a mxc kit the pipe is exposed to snow it is cooling the gas befor it is reaching the turbine so your loosing potential energy. i would wrap the pipe and see how that works, may just help your spool up.

once again i could be wrong but its an idea and alot cheaper

any new info on this upgrade?

other option

How about gaining throttle response with a better fuel/ timing controller. I know Dave at powderlites and his RB3 pulling the timing can smarten up lots of issues with lag, your setup placement looks not much different than a nytro setup and it works great. Worth a call unless you like to spend the time and money on a conversion. I do know he was working on mcx kits with his rb3 and has maps for it.

I was told that there was going to be a kit out before christmas....anyone here anything? price?

deepbreather...I was looking into the RB3....does it work with the external mcx injectors? I was told you can only us the stock injectors and get 14-15 psi out of the stock... I have the extra fuel pump and mapping to 17psi for my 06 mcx...

It looks like it's finished late Januari - in to februari

So i'll see how to do, might wait to summer to do the convert.

I run RB3 for timing and fuel control, but it's not one or the other for me, what i like about the conversion is the muffler you get with it, it's a very nice sound from the Apex with turbo and slip-on.

Not a problem, i've heard of one having some kind of trouble with running both, but why would there be?
It works absolutely as expected running them together, not an issue for me.

I spent several days trying to get them to run together and never got it to run right. It ran good with one or the other but not both. Now I just run the rb3. It works fine up to about 15 psi. Bigger injectors are needed to run bigger boost.

The new project and wiring update for the rb3 gives it even more response; advancing the timing 8-9 degrees on the bottom didn't hurt either. I just did the update on mine and had it out for the first time yesterday. It's still not as good a tuned front mount but it is a bunch better than a standard mcx kit.

How far do you advance timing (until boost comes, TPS based or to a certian rpm range)?

It's rpm and boost referenced. The advance is between 2000 and 7000 rpms below 4 psi. Then it retards gradually as boost and rpm's go up. It doesn't retard into negative numbers until it's above 10 psi. This is dependent on fuel being used. I run avgas with a 10:1 setup up to about 15 psi with about 2 degrees retarded. I think I could get away with pump up to the same 15 psi if I went with a full 10 degrees of retard. I'll need to do the math on it to know for sure.

As i said, i don't understand why there would be any interference, and for me there is non, works like a charm, i run more then 15psi also, on pump.

Updated the project this summer.
