Can anybody answer this??

not true it runs backwards. the oil pump is gear driven off the crank if the motor is turning the pump is turning and pumping.

Motors not originally set up for reverse had the old style oil pump that pumped backwards if reverse was added to the motor.

So does the engine actually turn backwards when put in reverse!!??

The reason why I ask is that I was told not to leave the sled in reverse for too long because the engine doesn't get oil. So as long as the sled is running... it is getting oil?? It doesn't matter which rotation it's in??

mine sat outside warming up a few days ago, for about 20 mins, damn phone call. scared the crap outa me when i got on and hit the gas. it is fine so yes it gets oil.

I am putting reverse on 02 and and was told the pump will not pump oil, and not to go crazy running around with reverse and it will work fine. The sleds that had reverse originally it is not a problem. I could upgrade pump not a big deal but I will leave as is.

i had an 02 that i put reverse on. i switched the pump just incase i forgot about it being in reverse i figured an oil pump was cheaper than a new engine. my dealer told me before i switched the pump that i could use the reverse but not to use it for more than about 10 seconds max. i know that in 03 they switched the oil pumps to be able to pump while running backwards.
