Camoplast Extreme or Powerclaw

I talked with Scott @ oft and he told me unless u use a offset axel the 9" wheels will hang lower than your rails, Not good.

hi Scott1 :)
I use today a BilletX 9" offset axel on my nytro xtx 144 with my 9" oft wheels.
I will buildt it to a 153 now and i must buy me a new track.
So.. as the length of the belt can I do? Can I use CE 15x155x2,5 - 286 pitch and how many tooth on the Avid must i go for?
Ore must i go for the 15x153x2,5 3 pitch?
Today with 144 and the 9" oft wheels the track is very tight and nothing and ease of :(

Tarzannr, you are 1 step ahead of me with the offset axle:face-icon-small-hap, shoot Scott @ oft a email, I'm sure he can help get you setup. If you don't have his email address let me know.

Well you have 2 options:
1.)Go with the 155X15X2.5 track with the 2.86 pitch and have to swap out your drivers from the 3.0 (guessing that's whats on the xtx's) pitch that's on there to the 2.86 just to run the track.
2.)Go with the 153X15X2.5 track with the 3" pitch and use your existing drivers. I'm guessing by your previous posts that you already have Avid drivers so this would be the cheapest route.

Also I can't tell you 100% for sure if the 155 will fit in there with your 9" wheels. I'm guessing your going to extend the rails to 153" length and intend on taking up the slack with the larger 9" wheels. I personally think that it should work, especially with the avid's allowing you to run your track a little looser than normal, but again I can't tell you 100% if it will work for certain.

Hi Justin
I am buying a set of stock Yamaha 153 rails now, so I thought a little longer track so that 155 might fit well with the 9 "turning wheel that the belt should not be so tight but and get something and adjust it.
Otherwise, I drive with 144 finger track and Walbro wheels and I believe is 252 pitch??? So i think i must have a set of new Avid anyway?

If your already going to buy new drivers both options are probably going to be the same price. You said your track is pretty tight/hard to get the skid in anyways so trying the 155 might work perfect for you. Again I don't know that it will work but I think you would be fine with the 155 and 9" wheels. You might check tracksusa.com to see if the lug pattern you want is available in both lengths, that might make your decision for you!
Good luck,

This is what I have heard and seen but never been on a yami.
Over in WA and western ID everyone likes the CE, on the yami, in the wrong snow its a trencher, but in that wetter snow it will usually hook better,
Around here the PC seems to work like a dream, and doesn't trench like the CE, my dealer has one on a apex at 14lbs and it flat gets it compared to the others, and even on more setup snow still pulls pretty well, but on the heavy yami it is a risk when dropping down long descents, if you can get it on its side with enough snow it works fine. He said the PC really gave it the pull your arms off feeling. But I've also heard of some going to the 3" lug and wouldn't do anything else, I think it will depend on where you ride and rider style more than anything.

Keep in mind with a 2.5" track you'll have minimal clearance between the track and tunnel cooler, and with the 3" you need to relocate it.

If you need to keep $ in check, I'd pick up a PC off an Arctic cat. I got mine for a steal with 50 miles on it from a break in ride. It bolted straight on with zero issues.

As far as drivers go, you will need to eventually change them if you are boosted. The stock drivers just don't hold up to higher HP. You'll be fine for a season or two, just keep an eye on them for wear. You may consider an anti-stab kit for some insurance to protect your track as well.

9104 Challenger Extreme 15x 155 x 2.5 -57 full 100/101 2.86

9104=Camoplast part number
Challenger Extreme= Lug patter/design
15X155X2.5 = Track dimensions 15" wide X 155" Long X 2.5" tall lug
57=weight in lbs
full= which windows are clipped, in this case all of them
2.86= Pitch size or in plain English the length of the windows of the track

As for what Avid's to use:

With the track listed your going to want a 2.86 pitch driver that's 1 1/16" shaft size.

With the 2.5" lug track your only going to be able to run 7 tooth drivers unless you delete the front tunnel cooler. I don't think that the smaller pitch drivers (2.86" vs 3") will give you enough clearance to run an 8 tooth driver.

So 2.86" pitch, 7 tooth, and 1 1/16" diameter hex shaft size.

All of this info is based of my knowledge and opinion. If it doesn't work...don't blame me! I'm just trying to help...
