Camoplast extreme on 1100T

Rode Cooke this week with new track and all I can say is I hope Cat brings new track for turbo next year cause powerclaw is junk compared to new camo 2.5. I rode side by side with buddys 1100t with powerclaw and i outweigh him by 75lbs and he couldnt touch me on hills or pow. Sidehills better, climbs better, floats better, and trenches less than stocker...I ran out of talent long before extreme ran out of performance

Camo Extreme vs PC

I have rode both on 2 different sleds. I had a Camo on my TApex and loved it. I find the PC to be ok in lighter snow conditions. I've been lucky to ride 2-3' of powder on the last two rides and the PC wasn't as good in the heavier the snow or if the snowpack has a harder layer in it the PC feels like it folds where the Camo holds the speed better. I will get around to changing mine at some point for sure.:face-icon-small-coo

Camo EXtreme Vs. Powerclaw

I ran the powerclaw for one ride in deep snow, pulled it off and ran put on a camo-extreme 2.5 on my 1100T. In my opinion the two tracks could not be any more different.

Powerclaw: Very Fast if you like to race, runs smooth with little vibration, works good on hard pack or if you have a long run and keep it spinning fast. Terrible for crawling around in trees, horifyingly fast on downhills

Camo-extreme 2.5: Easily walks on top of deep snow and crawls through trees. Instant traction, Excellent Down hill, Best mountain track money can buy, Vibrates like hell at 75mph.

If it didn't take the better part of a day and an engine oil and chain case oil change to switch them out, you would run the pc on trails, hard snow, and when you wanted to race. On deep snow days you would throw back on the CE.

Thats my $0.02 . A 2.5" or 2.75" powerclaw might be interesting!

track swap

Btw-- you don't have to drain engine oil to change out track

He's right - just chaincase oil. Took me about 3hrs to do my track swap on mine and I stopped for a bite to eat in the middle... so i'd say it should be about a 2.5hr job at the longest.

I agree but still kept the PC on.

I had a new Extreme, but decided the PC was a all round better track for me. I have to ride some trails and sometimes hardpac. The PC is better for that. You're right in deep cold powder snow the Extreme would be better. A day later it doesn't matter. Two days later the PC might actually work better.

Did you guys have to go to smaller drivers to fit the 2.5 ? I'm thinking of replaceing my track. Didn't know if there is enough clearance.

She is too tight captain!!! You can get it in there but the clearance is scary. Also, it is when you try to get the driveshaft "out" that you will see the problem.

Thanks, that makes sense. 2.5" looked like the max, but I thought maybe I was being too cautious....

What problem would that be??

We have two sleds running 3" right now with stock drivers and no rubbing of the coolers what so ever. You are right it is very tight but they dont touch at all. The top of the tunnel is another issue. Lets just say you need to keep the track tight.

We have 41 customers running the 3" paddle and not one complaint.:high5:

Just to be clear...41 Pro climb customers with a 3 inch and no mods to fit it.

That is correct. We have custom cut 88 tracks this year. The rest were for M8's & M1000 and Polaris.
Mods would be the custom cutting from 16" wide to fit the A/C tunnels.

Incase the next question on here is "how do you do it" our answer is always the same "we have a process" :face-icon-small-win
