Camo Extreme 2.5 Which is Best

I have a stock 06 Apex in which the Maverick track is getting tired. I was looking at going with a Camo Extreme 2.5", I see I can get the new single ply track and the older multiple ply track for about the same price. What is the best way to go here, mainly use sled for boondocking and some trail running during our club events. Also what is the best plcae to get the Camo Extreme track.
Thanks,

I ran the Single ply for awhile on my M series and it was great for climbing and boondocking, i didnt think it trenched as bad when getting going, softer lugs were much better in the soft snow, tended to pack more than just keep digging. Going to be running one on a turbo nytro next winter, hopefully it holds up to the power

If you do any amount of trail running and your lookin for a deep paddle track the only one od go with is the powerclaw. The traction that thing gives in all conditions is unreal. Feels like i added 20hp. I used to run the camo extreme bit the new powerclaw is definitly the way to go. Its got hard side lugs that grip on trail for cornering and accelerating hardpack and then a long attack20 style paddle for powder. Best of both worlds

Powerclaw not a good track on yamahas in my experience. not bashing the powerclaw they work great on the arctic cats, but i put a brand new powerclaw on my nytro last season and was not impressed at all i took it off after 2 rides and sold it. in deep powder i could not get the sled moving from a stop without it spinning like crazy and it just didnt seem to get any traction. Running the 2.5 extreme now and its great. mine is the older multi ply track im not familiar with the single ply. only drawback to the 2.5 is that it vibrates more riding down the trail but its not a big deal. I ride off trail in deep powder 90% of the time. would definetly recommend the 2.5 16 wide for your apex.

Good to know it vibrates more, I put the Camo Extreme on my Apex a bit ago and havent tried it out yet, so I would have thought something was wrong. Anything else to look for. I went with the CE because I was also told the Powerclaw is great for climbing but not so good for downhills.

I have a 10 nytro 162 stock track and in one to two feet of powder it's great but any deeper and the track just spins and doesnt hook up well.Do you guy's have the same problem?

Thanks this gets me pointed. I forgot about the downhill - I really do not like the Maverick on the downhill, the SkiDoo folks can really do a better job controlling their speed coming down hills (I guess having less frontend mass helps too). If the snow is not deep the Maverick lugs seem to bend over and sled picks up speed on the downhill. At least this my perception of what is going on. Talked to Tracks USA and they indicated that the only 16x162 track than Camoplast is making right now with a 3.0 pitch is the single ply extreme track. I really do not like the traiil but sometimes I am forced on it to get places or if new folks are riding with us. It sounds like the CE won't like the trail but will not fall apart if I take the trail at a moderate speed.

The Apex is the same way, I will know tomorrow the difference as it will be my first ride with the new track, I am pretty excited to try it out, my stock track ended up tearing in 2 spots, and I lost a few lugs (must have hit something under the snow). From what I have read the CE is like adding HP cause you dont have to use as much throttle to get up on the snow and stay there. I did a bunch of research on here and other sites, and for me I think this is the best track. Get some scratchers if you dont already have them though. Some people have gone with a 15 wide track and swear by it, but to me it didnt make sense to go narrower on a heavy sled. I mostly boondock, and play on the hills.
