camo extreame

force it in

has any one done the swap on a 09 163 stocktrack to the camo extreame with out rolling the chain, without changing sprockets.stock besides the track and how does it work

No. But I did make the same change on the 155". It works great, hooks up a ton better, stops a ton better. I haven't got to test it in the deep yet, but once the snow flys I'll be all over it.

I did it last year, put a 163 in place of the 155 and it worked fantastic. Hooked up great and stopped great. The downhill control was amazing. I was very happy with it. The guys at Tracks inc. can set you up with rail extensions that are very well designed. I know you don't need them but just giving them a plug. They are topnotch and know their stuff.

In my opinion that is the best mod you can do is the track. I love mone its nice to beable to stop now

How about in the deep stuff how do they work compared to the stock track? I have heard they trench in the soft deep stuff but work great in the set up snow. Anybody have first hand experience?

I am sure the stock track in dry powder would be better, for all around in any conditions the camo extreme is the best

I think for cascades, sierras = challenger xtreme
rockies, tetons, selkirks till spring = series 5.1
chall brakes way better but when the snow is real soft braking is not the issue, also chall hoooooks up in wetter heavier snow to the point where sled needs tighter limiter strap, but I dont think they give up anything soft snow climbing agianst 5.1 Challenger extreme is on my D8

not last yeay.doug on his 07 d-7with acamo-x 163 with Fastrax D&R..he spanked my 08 D-8 163 time after time..(our sleds were very equal before (his well modded)..one time one would get the mark..next time the other would..very equal sleds)didnt matter champayne powder, wet heavy, spring snow, sugar snow..dougs sled not only made mine look silly he made everyone we rode with look bad..big diference(I am sure part of that is the D&R..) but the track works amazingly good in all conditions...

I too was a part of this group. Dougy flat out schooled us with his lil D7 once he went to the extreme. Now we all have them:D The day AKSNOWRIDER was talking abput inpaticular was a dry light fluffy powder day. I was shcoked and amazed that a track that stiff would work so well in the dry light stuff. Seeing is believing.

that makes me feel even better,

I have the 2.5, I'll see how this season goes and I might do the drop and roll for next season

Camo ?

Gentleman...back to "force it in" original question? did you just change out the track and keep the stock drivers? or change drivers and add a anti stab also. please list what combo of parts you used. thanks

08 dragon 800 163, I used stock drivers, Fastrax drop and roll(5/8 down and 1in. back), no anti stabs, and the camo extreme 2.5 163 w/ 2.86 pitch

i agree best mod you can do i went from 163 to 174 ce huge diffence in all conditions i cant beleive polaris even lets the sleds out like that

If you just swap out tracks you will not have adequate tunnel clearance but you will have better performance. The reason for that is the challenger extreme is that good of a track. If you do a drop and roll kit you will have the recommended clearance and more of your engine's power will reach the snow. I pulled the track on my stock 155 and the top of the tunnel had more rubber on it the a drag race starting line. The CE track will only make the clearance issue worse. I just got my D&R kit from FXT and today I start cutting. I also got the straight rails and a 163 CE.
So, how much beer does it take to install the D&R?

roadtrip, I modded my tunnel as well as doing the drop and roll..but the drop and roll isnt bad should be able to do it in a weekend if your mechanically inclined and have some tools..read the instructions 10 times before you start.......heres a pic of mine (not close to finished but its getting there)....
