Camo Challenger Extreme 2.5"

sasky, that is the same track i put on my assault last year. u need to run the avid drivers with that track for the reason u mentioned. kind of sucks cause i thought that track would fit right on but it dosent. remember with combo drivers u also need to trim your rails and use an anti-stab kit.

Couldnt you just trim down the extrovert teeth on the Avid's instead of trimming the rails and adding the anti stab kit?

I rode the Assault last year at the begining of the snow season when there was 4 ft of fluff and no base. My sled has a 155 x 2.5 camo ex. I was amazed at how bad the Assault trenched. The nose was high and the a$$ low all of the time. I was, however, extremely surprised at how well the camo ex floated reletively close to the top. Whether or it was 146 vs. 155 or Comp track vs. camo is hard to tell, but anyway, in my opinion, the comp 146 track is useless for anything but ice n rocks and all that other hillclimb stuff. We went on a few rides last year and it seemed to be the same each time, The comp track digs a little deeper and takes a little longer to get from point a to point b. Another thing to take into consideration is the Assaults track approach. It is steeper than the D sleds

Better option is to buy the 2.5 CE and trim down the paddles as the tracks are probably the same cost anyways. Then you don't have to worry about the drivers and trimming down your rails.

So with this track you just trim, use OEM/stock everything else?

I am looking at getting an Assault, a bit concerned about the track on the really deep days.

Sounds like to go to a 155, you would need a tunnel extension as well.
I would like to use the OEM 146 in the spring, probably early season as well.

Looking for something I can do a pretty easy swap on.

the 146 camo extreem is actually a direct swap. no other changes need to be made. some are concerned that with the stock 8 tooth drivers it is a little tight. the stock polaris track on rmk's 2.4". the ce is 2.5". i dont think it's enough to worry about.
