My family is considering buying a cabin in the Uintalands....

Anyone have some insight they'd like to share??

It's a cabin thats snowmobile access only in the winter....

How many SW members are owners up there???

My family has had one there since the 70's and we absolutely love it. There is a parking lot that everyone goes to then you ride from there. They maintain the roads very well. You will not be disappointed if you buy one. Good luck!

We hate it up there. Oh and the snowmobiling sucks.:face-icon-small-dis
Buy in Timberlakes :face-icon-small-ton

Are you just saying the snow sucks because you don't want more crowds up there? I don't know if the snow sucks or not, I am just curious if you are being serious. I like powder riding so I would like to own a cabin not far from the Pow.

I do not know much about "cabins for sale" but sounds like a great idea. I would get up there and never come back. Fishing, peace and quiet, trail riding a motorcycle, snowmobiling, exploring, hunting...................
Back to reality, got to go to work now.:face-icon-small-sad
Good luck and keep us posted

We have a buddy that has one just east of the parking lot. We stay there at least once a year, someday I will have one there. Awesome location, and everybody seems to look after each other. I would say if you can afford it, it's a no brainer.

How is the snow? Is there much powder riding around?

Ours is in the manor lands. Not sure what the lot # is. I have allot of family and friends in the Uinta lands though.

imagine a subdivision in your neighborhood. but all of the lots are no smaller than 2 1/2 acres. and it's at 8000 feet, and you have to snowmobile into your cabin during winter months...

ya know I was just finally getting to the point of not hating Utah and all you Utards.

And now you went and made me hate you all again!!!!!!

It's way over rated up there X. We have had a place up there for 25+ and I hate it more and more every year:face-icon-small-win
To answer the Q about the snow... It depends on where you ride. If you ride the Elizabeth Ridge side the snow is usually sugar snow to the ground for a while. If you ride the west side of the highway it gets better but much more crowded in places.

Harry, I know of a place that has a cabin built already, its small but has a great view and it hasn't been used in a couple years. I will try to find you a name, they may want to sell?

I have access to a cabin in Christmas meadows just up the road. The deepest snow powder days I have been there. With as much space up there you can always find good riding.

Yes he is joking

dooradical, if you've seen sledheadut's posts over the years then would will know that he is joking when he says he hates it at his cabin. Clearly his posts over the years would show that he loves his cabin more than life itself.

I personally know that one area that is accessible from up there, with a little riding is the chalk creek area. The few times I've been there with friends that go there, it has been really really good.

Good luck
