C30 rotrex supercharger rebuild kit

My name is Mac Randolph, the owner of MPI. Kraftwerks aka Skunkworks, Mr. Jackson the owner told me that he told you he could not sell you a unit and that he quoted $2200 if you were an eligible customer.

The whole problem is that the supercharger was taken apart. I clearly have warranty latitude. If the unit was 1 year and 1 month old, I have warranty override. For a legitimate claim we will push warranties a lot past 12 months. Check around we have done this for several people. Any customer reading this, please remember we will always do what we can to help, so ask even if the unit is a little out of warranty. We had some bad units in 2004 / 2005 when the C15 design was new. We replaced many units that were well over a year old. Some of these we paid for ourselves.

FYI, the Rotrex unit is a planetary drive and the rollers (or planets) and encased in an annulus (cage). The rollers have a pre-span (or tension) on them and therefore without a very specialized fixture the unit cannot be disassembled without damaging the rollers and analus.

I am thrilled that you have gone to Paul. He is a close friend and we sell him a lot of parts. He has great pride in his workmanship and reputation, just like I do.

Additionally, I just want to clarify that some maintenance is required. As the THRID owner of this kit, you may have not been aware of this. You MUST change the oil once a year along with the filter. The kit you have is now, was originally sold in October 2005. Unlike many companies, the warranty IS transferable. Gagne Lassard originally built the sled and used it for a demo, the following year they sold it to a different Yamaha dealer. They used it and then you bought it from them. Who told you the kit was under warranty? Our warranty is only 1 year, plus a little exception time. Your kit is WAY over 2 years old, in fact, it is over 3 years old!!!

Just too throw in my .02 again. I have had nothing but good dealings with MPI. I have purchased Brake delete kits, tunnel, SUPERCHARGER, track, and susp. parts. All with good reviews. Good suport when I installed my tunnel on my RX-1 and had the same with my charger on my Apex. I will continue to do buisness with MPI in the future as well....Wish I could get a tunnel for my apex from them though...

finaly the case is close but one hell of a scam!!

do i look stupid or what :) .......just can't imagine how badly i and my yamaha dealer were ripped off by gagné lessard in quebec(coaticook).
here is the complete story :
with the serial number,MPI has been able to track back the history of that supercharger kit.........here we go.

the kit was sold by MPI to one of their dealer in quebec(gagné lessard)as a demo kit.....the dealer ran the kit in one of their own sled as a demo sled for two years and had a failure on the supercharger on the first year , MPI replaced the main unit and gagné lessard continued operation of the supercharger kit the following year.....so they had the kit driven two full season!!!from around november 05 to november 07 .
In november 2007, my yamaha dealer decided to install a supercharger kit in one of their sled(first supercharger/turbo kit ever).the only known MPI supercharger dealer and a long time friend(per my dealer words today) was contacted and they agreed on installing a BRAND NEW STAGE 1 APEX KIT and the total invoice for the kit and installation(sent to Jared at MPI by me last week) totaled around 8100$...........From there, i purchased the sled couple months after the sled was put together by my dealer WITH A ONE YEAR WARRANTY on it.

so last december, the supercharger went bad(we don't know yet what happen) and here is how this story started:
1-we called gagné lessard and they are telling us to send the unit to them and they will forward it to MPI but(quote) "the warranty is out(by one month) and 99.99% it will be rejected as a warranty claim"
2-as per the answer they gave us at gagné lessard, we decided to call MPI directly to check with them if there was any chance for us to get some kinda warranty/goodwill.
3-with MPI First call, we were told rotrex supercharger failure was less than 1% defective from the company and they couldn't do anything and a replacement unit was 2295$ U.S.
4-so we decided to open the supercharger to see what kinda failure occured
5-i'm posting on snowest this thread(c30 rotrex supercharger rebuilt kit)
6-Skyler from MPI contacted me(very politely) by email(and replied on the thread. i called back at MPI last friday and talk with Jared,sent him pics of the charger dissasembled and a copy of the invoice of the fisrt installation by my dealer(november 07), i had nothing to hide. Jared offered me a discounted price for a complete new unit (-800$) so he would sell it for 1495$ telling me no warranty was possible because the supercharger'scase was open. i decided to take the offer and pay by credit card right away..........but still badly pissed because i'm just one month out on the warranty( i tought!!!!!) and based on the first call at MPI,i opened the supercharger case.
7-Jared is calling me back for the serial number on the failed supercharger so i gave him the number and he probably inquired on it.............and that's where the rabbit came out of the hat :confused:
8-come back on my snowest thread to explain how frustrated i was and how complicated the warranty process was.
9-yesterday the owner of MPI replied on the thread and i didn't read the reply until tonight, but in the meantime, he called my cell this afternoon ( i think he called because he was aware of the scam put on by MPI's dealer gagné lessard). i was just shock listening to the story..........

sssooooo, talking with the owner today i finaly understood why the warranty wasn't honored(was explained this complete gagné lessard story.)Needless to say i felt damn stupid.....stired all that **** and MPI wasn't even responsible of it, not even close.............MPI stood up to the situation today by calling me and basically telling me one of their dealer screw us up big time....i mean big time :mad:
finaly, the owner of MPI completely understood i wasn't aware the kit was 3 years old and i have apologized like a man should do, for coming out publicaly.......i took the blame and the whole thing finished with polite and good words.
The least i can say is MPI, even in a bad situation, was always polite to me and never threatened me or tried to intimidated me, the always been extremely polite and available during the process....the didn't hide.

thanks Skyler,Jared,Mac ect....for coming out loud and informed me on a big scam put on by your dealer(and i 100% understand you cannot control all of them) it takes balls to do that.
i would like to thank you also for the super fast shipping on the new unit and the discount offered on it.......just wish you are understanding now why i was so pissed.......
 
wow!!!!! usually 2 sides to every story, yet this one had 3 really good/interesting ones!!!

Props to MPI for getting this all out for everyone to understand exactally what happend!
