Bye-Bye Boondocker Box! Your a POS........

I have run the BD box on 2 different sleds now and after the first one promised not to ever do it again. Literally every time I went to the mountain I was screwing with it to get it to run right for that days temperatures. Well, the '08-M1000 I bought a couple months ago had one on it and it almost ruined the deal, but I really liked the sled so I went ahead and bought it. About 2 weeks after buying it, I was at the Puyallup snow show and talked to Derrek from Attitude Industries. I told him I was going to give the BD box a couple rides to get it dialed and if I had one lick of trouble, I would be calling him! His exact words were "You'll be calling me soon". Well, I rode it 2 rides, couldn't get it dialed and called Derrek. His customer service was awesome, he gave me great solid settings that I have not had to touch once and the sled freakin' rips! I wish I would of done it 3 years ago. What I really like is that it piggybacks into the air temperature sensor. I am not kidding when I say, if you are having trouble with your BD Box, ditch it and get an Attitude box. It works awesome and treats the EFI more like a carb with pilots, needle, and main jets setting. Hopefully, I will get to ride this winter and not be tuning all the time! Now I just have to figure out why I blew my first belt today and why the clutch is getting so damn hot.........I run Cutler with tons of venting.

I agree

Ive had 3 boondocker boxes and the last one needed a new case, but they wouldnt sell me the case without sending it in so they could charge me labor. I had a attitude on my m7 and never had a problem with it i think thats what ill put on my 1000,

i guess my experience is different....i've used one of the "dobeck" type controllers on my 1000, and couldn't control temps at wot....after taking it in three times to the guru who makes the programs and sells the boxes, i gave up and got a bd controller...the bd box was indeed more difficult to learn to program, lots more settings and parameters to adjust....i had to go to school on the box, and do a lot of reading to understand what i needed to do...got a notebook, and went to work, just myself so i wouldn't feel the need to keep up with someone else, or slow them down....after 3 tune up rides, i had it pretty well figured out...now i just ride, unless i feel like doing some fine tuning from time to time to make sure that i've still got it where i want it....but i "locked in" a program that will always give me a good ride...i like the bd box because i can fine tune the fuel for my modifications...:)

The biggest difference that I see is the guys with bd boxes are always F'ing with them, and any time you mess with your fuel curve you take a chance of making a mistake. With a bd box I was forced to learn about the box, spend time learning advanced mode (because even at perfect settings, a duty cycle problem would try to burn our sleds at above 12,500) and adjust it constantly, if it was perfect yesterday, today is always a different story.

With the attitude, we set it & forget it. I've run from 9k to 13k, never touching the box, the same areas took 3 different settings on the BD box. I'll never recommend a bd box to anyone.

Aaron, give me a contact name and phone number. I want to talk to somebody about something different. I have been working on my BD box for two years and to be honest I am not looking foward to this season and having a kink in my neck from looking at the freeking EGT's 100% of the time. It is BS. I should have it tuned and set then ride the dang thing.

So give me some phone numbers please.

Get a hold of Cooke City Cat. They run a similar set up on their 1000's....and they run it w/ a fuel pressure regulator. everyone I talk to says it is bullet proof no matter the temp or elevation. Just a thought.
