From what I've read I need 500+ hours AK time, so a plane and an instructor will be a definate. Let me know what you can do and a price. Would want a DeHavilland but damn you can't touch one for under $300,000.

I asked him and he said if you have to rent the plane he probably couldn't save you any money, just better flight instruction. He has a buddy who flies for Alaska that's really good, I'll PM you his number. And stay far far away from TFA.
 
TFA= Take Flight Alaska, they are the WORST place to learn in the state imo.

Most lodges want 1000hrs Ak time, with 250hrs type.

I flew for Raimbow River lodge a few summers back, you dont realy fly that much, I flew 320 hrs in 6 months. Its basicly flying fishermen out "hanging out" for 8-9 hrs then flying back.

Fun gig, and pays pretty good for aviation standards.
