Bumper mount broke without bending bumper

I though I was hearing too much rattling so I checked it and found the mount broke. The bumper is straight but somehow the mount is f^€£ed. Will it warranty? Any thoughts in fixing it if not?image.jpg

Did you hit something? If so....that's not really a warranty thing. You can always ask, but unless there was a defect, not really what warranty is intended for.

a couple of things... It's cast... you could weld it I'm sure...but then you would have to de bond the overstructure tubes... and I'm not sure what the strength would be when you are done... I'm sure some of the "weld gurus" on here will chime in.

IMO... sell your stock bumper and get one that attaches in another place.... I like the BM Fab for simplicity and durability.

Not much else to mount to in there. Working on a couple things to fix this problem. Those castings don't weld at all really. The almighty mother Polaris really hosed everyone on the bumper mounts. Our bumper with its signature cross tube and lower mounting points to the bulkhead instead of just the nose cone like every other bumper out there, will help distribute the load out for sure.

They don't weld well at all.

Longer bolt up through the shock mount area.
Twisted and bent piece of 1/8" chromoly let me use the stock bumper.

Aftermarket could be made to mount there easily. :)
Hint hint bmfab.

The bolt.

Broke this a couple weeks ago and twisted a piece in the vice to fix it.
10 minute ish fix.

Thanks for the heads up on welding. The metal tab is a winner I think good idea! My only other thought was to make some kind of clam shell around the tube/overstructer with a tab. Again thanks for the ideas!

Pretty much what we had planned on doing SMF. Just need more time in the day to get it done.

IMO... the KEY for an effective front bumper for this sled is going to be a more structural mounting point for the top tube of the front bumper... Probably a supplemental bracket of some sort.

I agree MH. There are some very good bumpers on the market and some are just ok. Id like to see a combination of ideas come together for the ultimate front bumper. The B&M is very strong and I love their cross over tube, it really is a great idea. Im going to order one soon because I unfortunately go through a couple bumpers a year (stupid jumping trees!) I have a Skinz bumper on now that does a great job of tying into the over structure on both sides. This distributes the force of a hit and doesn't break off the tabs. Also a few pics of stock bumper next to it. You can see the brackets sitting on the box and installed. I know there have been comments on here about the welds not being as pretty. I don't care as much about, Im more concerned about the welds holding. If you ride in the U.P the trees are tight and bumpers are expendable. B&M do you have this color red now?
