Bull Moose Saloon, Alpine

I attend a large group ride in a different place every year and this year Alpine has been chosen. The organizer of the event found the BMS for lodging and apparently didn't do any research. When I went online to do my own research, I found that they had an apparent severe bed bug infestation last fall according to ratings and comments on Trip Advisor. Has anyone stayed there recently or have any info as to whether they have the issue cleared up?

I was in the bar last week sometime and they were talking about how they fogged the rooms in the down season. Didn't say it was for bed bugs but they did say they were fogged. There are a few other places in town if you're worried about it. Flying Saddle is right over the bridge and seems pretty clean and modern if I were to pick one. I know nothing about any of the other places in town.

After talking it over with the event organizer, we have decided to move to the Flying Saddle. With the bug "uncertainty" and the lack of respone to a couple of attendees phone calls, we feel they don't want/need the business. One person in particular has called 3 times to make reservations and there hasn't been a return call. I'm sure the Flying Saddle will appreciate our business and our group.

Yeah definatly stay at the Flying Saddle. Clean rooms and a good restaurant.
The Bull Moose does have the best entertainment in town though!! Lots of brass poles

According to reviews on Trip Advisor they still had "critters" in sept and oct of 2012. No matter now, Flying Saddle here we come

You'll be very happy with the Flying Saddle. I stayed there last year when we were doing some fixing up to our cabin and its a great place. You guys should rent the cabins they have it makes it a lot more fun and they're pretty nice. Not to mention you'll love the pool/hot tub after riding and their food is pretty good too. Make sure you get a steak for dinner thats what they're specialty is. Had seafood wasn't too impressed with it there. It is a bit pricey for dinner but its well worth it.

I was really interested in the cabins but actually find a cabin useless without a kitchenette. We usually cook our dinners ourselves and eat breakfast wherever we are staying.

These cabins are really nice. More like a smaller house than a cabin. We stayed in them for several weeks while building a house up there. Stayed at the moose also, but it doesn't even compare to the Rockinm.

Go to VRBO.com and see what's available for lodging in Alpine. We got a very nice, large 5 bedroom house with a pool table, steam shower, gourmet kitchen, etc. for $250/night. It's worth going this route in my opinion as it will save you money and it's much more comfortable. BTW, the Bull Moose is primarily a strip club. The girls who dance there come from all over the surrounding area (Idaho Falls, Salt Lake City) and I'm sure that's where the bed bugs came from. They only have dancing on Friday and Saturday night and they put the girls up in their motel rooms. Also, the food there is terrible unless you want something fried.
