It's a X for my daughters extreme green recycling project at school
Had another horrible day riding sub par snow... we didn't even find anything over 3.5' worth of fresh/ soft... it was terrible.
We headed to go to the back of the ears, but didn't even make it there, we found enough snow in the meadows/ trees to the SW/ W of the ears that were 1-2' deep & pockets of deeper... had a great day, didn't break anything. Wind is funny... it's like robin hood, it steals from one place & gives to another!
Also ran across a dad & son from Breck (Buck & Jet, great people!!!) out there, ended up riding with them the rest of the day, taught the 10 yr old son to jump, taught him kickouts in about 3 tries... had a killer day!!
Also riding tomorrow if anyone is up for it, shoot me a PM. Not heading to the ears again, but somewhere in Grand.
Btw, as much as I hate to admit it, we went to Jones yesterday... and that REALLY DID suck. Unreal how bad it is there, I've never seen anything like it. We rode for about 90 min & went home.

We are riding the ears tomorrow. Erics got the updates finally done one month later.
Rode Buff on Sunday (Jan 1st). This is a pic of the snowmarker up at the tower. The wind on Friday and Saturday blew alot of snow around so you could find a little bit of powder and a lot of untracked snow. You have to be very careful. We were taking it easy and I bounced off 1 rock and a few stumps at very low speeds without doing any damage to my sled. My buddy cracked his nose cone on his XP off a stump hidden under the snow.
You can have some fun if you don't mid breaking parts. I personally won't be flying out until there's another couple feet of snow. It's just not worth it for me. If I lived nearby it would be a different story.
Also the snow for the first mile or so on the cat tracks from the parking lot is getting really thin. It's going to be dirt soon if there's no new snow. Especially with the warm temps this week.

Hell I only live 3 hours away and I am not making a trip back till at least 2 more storms blow through
I have seen the parking lot just recently...its as big as I have ever seen it so this is pretty funny to me!

Yeah last year I visited with the CSA in the RE parking lot. They were solicting members and support and they had discussed plans to expand the lot by removing more timber. Doesnt look like it happened. Anyone else privy to this topic?
