Brp going broke????

that right there is funny

ever bought parts for a doo? they don't make any money selling sleds, they make all the profit selling us shleps parts. every part i buy for a doo is at least twice the cost of everyone else!!!!

LMFAO! They make a bunch on selling sleds, they charge 20% more in Canada then in the US for the same product, and they are built in Canada, go figure. . .

Guy who made the thread has a 08 M1000, guess hes just pissed with all the updates (recalls).
more like, pissed that he keeps getting beat by revs and the xp!! hey maybe if your lucky, when cat goes belly up, brp may buy them so you can still get parts for that pile!! oh what is the world market share for brp? 55%, what was cats?

Every manufacture is 20% more in Canada. That's just the way it is. If they sold there sled for $8,000, and everybody else sold there's for 10 grand, I don't think Cat, Poo would be selling that many sleds up there. Also there the cheaper down here than all the other brands. It doesn't really matter where it's made. There still cheaper up in Canada than all 3 other brands if you go by MSRP.

LET THE PISSING MATCH continue....................Worry not, my Nytro out climbed, out carved and out did 3 XPs all weekend. It wasnt a fair fight, 2 of them were'nt running well:eek:.

You have'nt been paying attention. 220hp with 12lbs of Boost:cool::rolleyes:
You may want to stay on the porch. The big dawgs dont have time to wait for you and your .........sled????:D;)

What a worthless thread - opinions are like A$$ Holes, everyone has one. And since we all have one, here's mine - All the Manufactures have problems, we, as consumers, continue to purchase there crap, then we stand in line to purchase next years crap, and the cycle goes on. No one stops buying, you just complain more, because now you have a forum with an audience (Snowest). The smart consumer purchases second year sleds - by season 2, the consumer, "YOU", have figured out how to make the machines run correctly, you have done all the R&D for the Manufacturers. And here is the funny part - the R&D was done at no cost to the Manufacturer - you paid for it! So, do you really think BRP or any other manufacturer is going broke when they have consumers who are willing to spend $11K on a half baked pie, and then spend another unknown amount and endless hours making the machine work. Yea, someones going broke, but it's not BRP!

So, moral of the story is all the people that bought 07 and 08 Rev's are stupid. And, they will be the same one's buying a 09. but yet they will be sceaming louder each year because BRP's warranty sucks so bad, just like the quality control.

What a great company us Canadian taxpayers own..............

Once again, Darko is the ONLY voice of reason!!

The Mfg's cost to build a sled is only about 1/2 of the retail $...even less for the parts. And financing...something like 90% profit margin on the interest charged. They are doing just fine!!

modsledr

I find it hard to believe that the company could possibly turn any profit with all the problems they have had on the last two years sleds. I'm constantly hearing of how bad off arctic cat is and they're actually selling a solid product. Brp must be a huge and powerfull company to stay afloat with products like they put out in the last two years...Oh yeah if you own an xp, you better get your belts now, I've heard from a few different people that they're running out and they are on backorder.

The make huge profits I'd bet. They sell more sleds than anyone in the world. That coupled with the fact that these sleds require high maintenance and have astronomical repair bills only ensures continued profitability of the company. Billiant!

On a related note, I bet AC pulls bankruptcy pretty soon (again).

Sleds are a small portion of BRP's business. You have forgotten about their ATV line, Sea Doo, Evinrude, Bombardier aviation, and other aspects of the corporation that I'm sure I don't know about.

They are a huge....company. Sleds are a fraction of there corporation....they even own banks.....

Is that all you talk about how yamaha's can't ride in the trees what bs and you know that. I forgot your xp is the best and i'm sure if you had a yamaha, cat, polaris it would be the best also.

There are no were near as many problems with Doo's as the internet makes it seem like. Since this is the net and you can talk to people all over the world, it seems like every single one of them has problems. There are tons of them that work perfectly fine, but they dont come on here telling you that, they are out having fun!

I agree. would be interesting to know problems vs. units sold. lot more xp's out there than any other brand.

I am pretty brand specific about what I ride but I do know that when I buy a new sled again it will be whatever is the best sled out of the box. And when I say out of the box I mean each sled performing at 100% so right now I do believe that is the xp but that is besides the point. I am not going to spend 11 grand without believing in my head that it is the best sled. I think it would be dumb to spend that much money for a sled that I think will get beat by other stock sleds. So I would hope that if he owned a brand new yamaha, cat, or polaris he would think it is the best as well.
As far is this thread goes it was started with little knowledge about brp and is basically worthless but gave me something to do for a half hour. Have fun in the snow there is plenty everywhere now:face-icon-small-coo

After all of the years of following the SW forums I still struggle reading posts like this. Douchebag threads like this need to be on AMSNOW.

Well Darko - that could be the moral of the story - but this swings 4 ways (4 manufacturers). I think they may all have problems, but just my opinion. I'll tell you this, if the same guy that purchased the 07 and *****ed, purchased the 08 and is *****ing, and goes and plunks down his snowcheck money for a 09 here in a couple months - I'm thinking that gene pool should end, soon! Don't get me wrong, I know alot of guys that like there 07's and are getting their 08's to a point they like them, too - but they're doing this on there own time and $$. Me, I'll keep my 06X's until things change for the better (yep, new pistons and rings last week before it had it's own problems at the magical 2000 mile mark) .
