BRP – Do I ever need to vent!!!

sell your 07' and 08's and get an 06. That sucks dude, I was going to buy an xp 154 but after reading all these posts i think im going to go with an m8.

So I pay 3 grand more to buy my XP at the local dealer so I can get warranty, I keep my 07 800 as backup sled since the XP is a first year model and unknown and I can’t afford not to be without a sled. Well my 07 had low compression at the end of the November, the dealer was too busy to look at it (due to all the XP problems). First week of December it blows, Dealer says no short blocks available and no piston wrist pin bearing to do a top end. Well after waiting over TWO months I finally get it back with just a top end done on it done and first ride out it blows. It now been at the dealers for over a week and still nothing, pretty close to 3 months now since I told the dealer it had a problem. So everyone know the problems with the XP drive shafts (except BRP and the dealers) and I keep telling the dealer I wanted it welded and that finally BRP is allowing 1.5 hours shop time for the dealer to do it. Well he didn’t even know that and said nobody could do it in 1.5 Hrs. Well today I was checking the sled over and took it for a short rip around the field. I pin it and bang the drive shaft blows. New right away what it was because of all the posts on the different forums (to bad BRP doesn’t read them they might learn something). So phone the dealer up tell him it going to be there first thing in the morning and he says he doesn’t have any shafts in stock. What kind of BULLSH!T is this. Of the 13 sleds I have these are the only 2 still under warranty and they are the only 2 that don’t run. The day before it blew I was over 100Km from the trailhead, there was no way it was getting towed from that far back. When is BRP going to do a recall on these sleds? Looks like I will be riding my 04 for a while.

I'll be sure to bring an extra sled for you to ride with us next month......

Not sure of many problems this year. My friends who ride rev's are lucky enough to have a good dealership here in the kootenay's. Playmore power products in south slocan let me try a rev last week at the Grizzly poker run and I was more then impressed with the nimble handeling and flickability! When you completely re-doo a chassis, your bound to have a few issues.:beer;

Nope sorry no sympathy here.

Did you not see the link for his tour business at the bottom?

Got a chance to ride with 3 XP's a couple weekends ago and when PROPERLY set up (out of the box is pathetic) and not blowing up, they are bar none, the best performing 800cc sled ever produced. Seeing what people have gone through, I wouldn't even consider owning one. Reliability isn't even in that sled's vocabulary.

There is a Ski-doo rental place in Island Park, they showed me a driver shaft that had the end twisted off. It looked to be about 1-1/2 in. in diam. and the shaft looked to be less than 1/8" thick. You think Ski-doo may regret they sold there sleds and bragged how light they were????

I like mine. No problems as of yet, except that it is running rich and I don't know why. It's hands down a better sled than my 05. My dealer talks to me on a daily basis so I know that he is staying on top of things. Sorry that you are having problems. BRP says that they are only having 1.5% failure so that isn't enough to warrant a recall. Most sleds are losing the shaft at around 350 miles. Me dealer has almost 200 sleds (XPs) out there and has not had a shaft blow yet. I hope that I am not gonna be the one!

It's all in who you know Ray,I inspected Peter's sled and found a cracked drive shaft,he took it in next day and had it fixed,,,,maybe you have bought too many sleds from him.

New memo passing thru the office's at BRP!!!

We are now creating a new warentee carry over plan for all the current warentee holders for the xrs and xp owners that are willing to snowcheck again!!!!

This plan is to keep the xrs / xp in the garage while for sale(minimizing the warentee work) and the loyal guys can ride there new 09's while their warentee expires on the xp/xrsl!!!

We feel this will create a new record sales year again with our over loyal skidoo snowcheckers....now let just hope we can keep the 09's running!!!

Sorry guys had to say it!!!

LMFAO

Wow, sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately, you BRP die-hards are going to keep getting crapped on like this until you do what many Poo die-hards did a couple years ago... abandon ship. BRP has been pulling this garbage since the '03 REV 600 SDI. As long as they keep selling the most sleds, they'll keep forcing equipment of questionable reliability out the door, especially with Bain Capital calling the shots. You don't maximize profits by having a huge parts inventory on the books and investing millions into refining your products... This was Polaris in the late 90s and early-mid '00s under the Tiller guidance. They've since gotten the picture and have really righted their ship... but it cost them a lot of customers. This just has that exact same feel to it...

Well I got my XP back yesterday, havent check if it one of the new shafts or not, does anyone know how to tell the difference? Looks like I might be getting my 07 back today as well. To bad I had to go into the dealers shop and scream at him for 10 minutes to get anything done.

The funny thing is that ski-dooers are so stuck on the doo that many of them would gladly participate in this program. I wonder if any of them has ever ridden another brand or if they all just stayed with ski-doo because that is what their buddys ride...lol Brp must love their customers...they can build a pos sled and they just keep lining up to buy them!!!!

Yeah my knee just started feeling better!

Phoned the dealer to see if my 07 was ready, he wouldn't pickup the phone, tried 3 times. Had my wife phone from her cell surprises surprise he picked up, said he didn't know if it was ready and had to go.

LOL, basically Ray it's his way of saying it ain't ready yet. He's scared of ya buddy. hope you get it going soon.
