Broken part on my XP?????

Any chance your dealer has another S Module in stock? I'm stuck waiting for one to come in, supposedly late next week.

I got the last one in stock. Lucky break I guess;) I don't have my sled here or I would get you a pic. The three I saw were all bent in the same place. Look at where the rear of the bottom a-arms mount up to the bridge. Behind those bolt locations is about a 1" or so space with more bolts. The last set of bolts holds the bridge on to the chassis. In the center of the bridge between those bolt locations there is a straight piece of aluminum down the center from the a-arm bolts to the bridge/chassis bolts. All 3 had that center piece twisted, as well as bending where the bridge bolts attach to the chassis. None of them has sheetmetal damage at the attachment point. Did that make sense:confused::confused:

just a thought!

Brecksleder if you hate this new sled so much and it is a real POS then I will but it from you so you can go buy a poo. I will give you $5500 for it! Remember it's a POS and that is all I will pay for a POS!

if thats your best offer you must not think much of it either

It does not matter what I think of it, I just said in order to make him happy again I would take it off his hands that's all!! Now take it or leave it?

Now, now Kids, Play nice!
I just talked to Doo dealer yesterday. He told me S-module is on backorder until Feb. sometime. I hope this isn't BRP's final answer. I couldn't imagine having a brand new broken ride sitting in the shop for 2 months of the riding season. Could NOT be happy.
Ride on!

So has anyone drilled there a-arms yet? I know that a bunch of us were doing that on the REVs and it helped a lot. Why can you do the same thing to the XP? Sounds to me like it would save a lot of time and pissed off people.

hmmm.......so who was right last spring?? the pinecone posse or the dog the dragon boys? don't matter what it weighs if it's up on blocks for 6 weeks. i'll give rides on my rmk for beer [:-))]

I was starting to think about putting some holes in the bottom of the rear a-arm in hopes of saving the s-module:confused: Anyone else gonna start "popping" holes:eek:

The Polaris RMK chassis is engineered with an a-arm that bends before the bulkhead. Such a nice feature to have.

Found that out last week. $120 and it was here 3 days later. Does the race XP have a beefed up S module? Is that backordered too? That might be an option instead of waiting til Valentines day to get your sled back.

Improved S-Module???

Not to worry. BRP has a heavyduty version of the S-module in development.

where did you get this info? I'm thinking once my smod is back repaired i'm getting some super fat skis and disconnecting the sway arm. hopefully that will give me some time until they come out with the so called heavyduty version.

Get those fat skis, you wont regret it even if you got a light sled.

Mine is twisted up somewhere in there to. Brushed the outside edge of ski against a tree at the edge of trail and was stopped in my tracks. Right shock is back an inch and left shock is forward. Still riding it though...I will wait till the s-modules come in at least and longer if the POWDER is deep. This is my first year on a Skidoo and the XP is INCREDIBLE. I dont know if I will ever ride a poo again. Over the years I have Blown four of the trailing arms on my poos. The hits should have been more than easy to be sucked up in the suspension and still the arms folded and buckled like they were made out of tinfoil. I think all sleds have a hard time holding up if You ride it like a Bat out of Hell:face-icon-small-coo. And the XP is more than worthy to keep fixing. And it is incredibly BONEY out there in most places. Hardly any snow right now at a time we are all used to having 3 times as much and riding where we want to. :beer;More snow, Less destruction for all brands of Sleds:beer;

couldn't agree more. we are all hitting rocks out there. i hate to use the word fragile but these machines are made for powder not rocks and trees. if we're going to ride when it's incredibly "boney" then be prepared to buy parts, have down time, and wish that there was more snow so you don't do it again. lightweight chassis = less strength but it also equals unmatched handling and performance, i guess we all need to choose what is more important. just my .02s

I've looked at the "BIG" simmons too, but can't bring myself to add weight to my sled. My extra fuel tank was bad enough. I think the XP might like the flexibility of the Simmons skis though;)
