I did notice this is the same person who bored that huge hole through his sled to put in the exhaust dump.
Does anybody think that the exhaust temp could get hot enough to soften the glue?
My gut says probably not.

I haven't ridden mine yet it's a 163" 2.6, so no personal info. I'm off to Revy Friday to ride a few days. So I was speaking with Rob Alford about snow conditions in Revy today, when he preceded to tell me of 3--2016 axys with broken drive shafts. He said they were all aluminum, aren't all axys shafts aluminum. Just like the 13 through 15, Or are the 3" track axys steel? Just looking for any real info. Thks
Uh....wasn't my sled guys. 250 miles on mine running 70g weights and freaking killing it while you sit on your computer saying bad things about someone that's not afraid to innovate and enhance a great sled!
His tunnel dump has nothing to do with a drive shaft failure, he has a chaincase on his that has a steel drive shaft, not a glued aluminum drive shaft. I would sure like to know why there are failures when the aluminum shaft has a collar and not to mention smaller drivers.
I'd like to know how a 2 page thread gets started from a hearsay phone conversation with a guy sponsored by Ski Doo ..... Over a dozen of the 16's I know of have been ripping around here with both steel and aluminum shafts ZERO issues. Believe what you see, not what you hear.

Sitting at my buddy's shop tonight tinkering on his summit, he's storing a friend's 16 axys pro le 155x2.6 in his shop. Nosey me wanders over by it, cracked belly pan under the quick drive pulley and melted plastic on the quick drive belt. Pics aren't the greatest but they're pics to prove it nonetheless. This sled doesn't have a mile on it.

Rob Alford is a straight shooter... no reason to doubt what he said.
It would be good to get some more info though.
