Broken chain link??

I have an 09 assault that I was doing some maint. on and there is one out side link that broke that found its way to the magnet. I dumped the oil and cleaned it out, I was going to leave it for a while but wdealer says it needs to be changed just wondered what others have done when this happens?
Oh and the chain tension was right where it should have been

I would replace it, if the chain brakes you will probably take out the chaincase not worth the risk
