Broken bolts - Motor mount bracket to motor

Greetings,

Last night I discovered a ton of movement in my motor. Tore into it today and discovered both bolts that mount the motor mount bracket to the motor were broken on the right side of the motor. See the circled bolts in the below diagram.

I was able to use an easy out to back the broken studs out but have a few questions on the replacement bolts. Any help is appreciated.

1. It seems the bolt hole is much longer than the stock bolts. Is there any reason I can’t use a longer bolt?

2. I’m surprised a lock washer isn’t used. Any reason not to use one?

3. What are the thoughts on using locktite: either blue or red? It seemed the old bolts don’t have any.

4. A shop told my buddy the torque specs a let 50 ft pounds; is this correct?

Thank you for the help!

I see no problem with using a lock washer with longer bolts and blue lock tight. the torque spec sounds a little low. put your torque wrench on the bolts on the other mount and see how much torque it takes to move the bolt

Thanks for the reply. I put it all back together and she’s been running great! The bolts other bolts were looser than expected so I think 50 pounds is sufficient. I’ll keep an eye on everything but should be good to go.
