Broken axys spindles ridning without a ski

We have installed them on a few of the powder coated spindles. They are a bit tight and plan on fixing that. I was just made aware that the spindle may or may not have been changed mid production, with no part number change. I will order new spindles today and find out for myself. Give me a call at the shop and I will refund your money or get you an updated set.

Tom

I just "tried" installing these on my 17. Couple of questions, could probably just call TKI in the morning, but someone here may know or have advice.

Have these been installed on powdercoated spindles? Thinking IF I can get them in they will need to be pounded in. Thinking thats gonna destroy my powdercoat, not too excited about that.

To my IF- are the 17 spindles slightly different? It looks to me like the center vertical "support piece" of the spindle that the rear of these supports sits against is not a straight edge, its smaller at the top and bottom and thicker in the middle. The rear of the support is straight.

Looks like the 17 spindle IS in fact beefier. Have a 16 and 17 in the the shop, looks like what I would call the front vertical section and center vertical sections are roughly .05" thicker.

That said it would be nice if someone with a decent caliper could confirm that. The $30 digital "General" one I got at Lowes is a ****ing joke.

Any update Teth-Air?

Tom at TKI has the inserts done for the 16's and is working with another shop to produce the axles. The wheels will not be coming with the axles because they are standard off the shelf type product. The shop making the axles is the hold up now.

I will call Tom this week to see if he can push them a little faster.

Still waiting on updates to 2017 spindles

any news? nothing on site

Only bad news. Tom started making the inserts and they fit some spindles and not others. He found that spindles were up to 2.5 ounces different from one spindle to the next. This meant thicknesses were also all over the place. Tom decided it wasn't worth the aggravation. I will still try and talk him into getting that extra CNC machine he needs to start making the offset spindles for me that also incorporate the axle for the wheel kit. I do have a couple sets of the inserts for sale but need to sell them to guys who are local so they can test fit them before they buy.

Here are the offset spindles we just made for Sahen Skinner's builds.
