Broke in the Pro without breaking the Pro

So today I put 60+ miles on the new pro. The group I was with was mostly noob's so all easy miles....good for a proper break in.:face-icon-small-win

My thoughts after one ride:

1. I was shocked how easily carving on the sled was. I thought that after coming off an XP I would have a bigger learning curve. Especially since I really struggled to carve on my brother in laws dragon. But carving was nice and will only get better as I get a little more time on it.

2. A mile down the trail it overheated. I guess there is a reason they put scratcher on it stock. I thought something bigger was wrong, cause my XP never overheated on the trail. The snow wasn't hard pack or icy either and I was shooting a decent roost. But I put down the scratchers and dove in and out of the powder and it stayed cool the entire time after.

3. The machine felt pretty underpowered and didn't have close to the get up and go my xp had. I am hoping this changes drastically when the chip burns out. Everybody says they really wake up after a couple hundred mile. If it does, this sled will be a solid and fun ride.

Just wait. Once I ran the first tank of pre-mix out of the system the sled woke right up. After my first ride on the Pro I had mixed feelings. Sled stuttered, I was scared of hitting something, and was also riding with some noob's. Ride 3 was alot better than Ride 1.

Time to put more miles on it.

I to joined the club switching from XP to this Pro and I haven't regreted it yet. Even through the first tank of gas I thought the power was better then my XP and now I have 155 miles and this sled runs solid. Clutching is alot better for holding rpms then my Doo ever dreamed of. My favorite part of the sled has to be the ability to sidehill and do it with no effort. Hopefully that Pro of yours wakes up after that 1st tank of fuel Mtnpull!!

That's the thing, my xp was clutched very well and pulled hardand rpms held steady. The chassis and handling are great. I just want to make sure it has good power to go with it. I'll report again after a couple more rides.

Sad part about my clutching was is that I had Rooster built clutch kit on it and it worked good for a few months and then it was right back to rpms not staying above 8000. We tried a few different helix's but that never helped. Mine was a lemon and I'm glad it's gone, it just seems like everyone else XP's run good while mine was always slacking a little :face-icon-small-dis

Mnt pull.....check and make sure you are running the nonethanol resistor if you run non ethanol fuel..big difference on performance.....also make sure the track isnt too tight...as it too will kill performance...

Glad to hear you're liking the Pro. I've had the best 100+miles of my life on my 163LE. It's does run better after the oil in the gas tank is out.

Unfortunetly I went right from Break in Period to Breaking Period. I destroyed two A-arms Sunday but got some ARS/Z Bros installed (thanks TriCity parts). I am good to go for this weekend.

Have fun. Let it Snow!
