Now we know why he was so quiet last year.
Wow, just read it on his blog!!!!!
I am guessing money talks. I can't see Brett riding long with out a vertical steering post and a turbo so I would guess there will be some new products in the ski-doo parts isle.
Brett is an honest guy. He has been extremely vocal about what a POS the Ski Doo is for mountain riding. I've heard him state this on several occasions. I don't think he would make this jump without a commitment from BRP to let him help them build a backcountry sled. He will live with what they have for now if he knows they are commited to getting this right shortly.
This is good for the industry as a whole. Brett will help BRP get it right and keep Polaris honest. This will also wake up AC and help them figure out they need to can their current ride and start over soon which will keep both Polaris on BRP honest. This will keep the market more competative for all of us IMO.
I'm calling BS on that one. I don't care how desperate a manufacturer is, they would never hire a guy that has openly trashed them. I ride a Doo and, personally I love it. I don't think it's a POS at all. Of course there are things that could change. That's why we mod our own sleds. Right? I also know LOTS of Doo riders that can tear it up with the best of them. So, I think that the only POS on the Hill right now is possibly the Cat.
He has said many times that horizontal steering doesn't work for technical riding... even after cat came out with it as well. It's no secret.

Nothing against Skidoo, but I have a feeling there was more to this than just "Oh I'm mad at Cat for not making my skis turn sharper" .... ya know? I'm not exactly a brand-loyal person (with the exception of KTM ), but it didn't look to me like the new Cats were anywhere as bad as a lot of people made them out to be.
Super stoked to see this and what he does. Just goes to prove that any rider who knows what he's doing on a sled, can do it on any sled.
