Brett Rasmussen switches to Ski Doo!

Who's this Brent fellow anyway?

Brent ......that's Bret's childhood friend. They knew from the beginning that Brent was a bright one.

The only known picture of Brent with Bret before he was seen high marking his stroller off into the sunset

Just went back through this thread and read most of the mosts. I really wonder what the money part of this deal is? Are they going to give him3-4 sleds or 8 or more? Is he going to have a road show with Ride Rasmussen Style and a fleet of XMs to use in his school. Or more of an R and D thing. Or both. I would think a 13 XM costs BRP right around $7000 US dollars. So giving him 8 sleds and parts is really just a rounding error in their budget. But I also wonder what his salary is. 50? 100? I don't think most "sponsored" riders get much real cash. They get sleds and parts and the ability to participate in the whole corporate promotion thing and DO WHAT THEY LOVE! Brett brings real world snow world business experience and good practical field engineering which is what the pocket protector crew at BRP really need and I think that makes him worth more to BRP than just a rider or promoter.

All very interesting,

But look at NIKE, and how many air jordons they sold because they put his name on them. Every kid in the country had a pair.

???? just a thought.

Ill go with the money thing, for him and them!!

Not putting down anyone, but Polaris got Chris Burandt on board before they came out with the Pro chassis. It got interest and there were a lot of questions why he would do that. Then the next year the Pro came out and it really got the attention. I can only imagine the BRP folks are looking at capitalizing on the reputation of Brett.

If nothing else, it should stir the competitive nature of these manufacturers so we all get something better.

When Blair Morgan left cat for doo it was all about the dollar, he told me that himself. When first Burandt switches over to poo and now Brett going doo, I'm thinking they probably were looking for a place they feel usefull. Cat's managment has went it's own way and let their engineers (some don't ride at all!) decide how a sled should be build instead of listening to some of the best back country riders in the world, who not only know how to ride but how to put together a tough capable sled. I hope the mangement gets itself straightened out or we will only have two mountain sleds and a yammi to pick from!

I just heard VP Joe Biden is stepping down and going to AC he is going to unchain them and share the wealth with Yamaha so they do not feel left out of the mnt segment. Really.

im thinking he was let go......
thats more of a possibility in my eyes than him leaving for greener pastures.
not that it matters,,,

ive rode all three sleds (couple minutes on xm)
i own all 3 sleds
all are very capable
if you can ride,, you can ride all 3 and have a good time!
i will have a favorite im sure..

Funny, I don't hear him say anything about Ski Doo here where he talks about mountain sleds that work or fitting his riding style at the 8 minute mark, so I'm certain its not about the support or money!!!!! haha!!! I guess you have to spend years steering people to competing brands for Ski Doo to pick you up. Either way you look at it, its hilarious!!! I hear they just dropped most of their ambassadors, doesn't seem like they have much interest in connecting with the younger people in the market.

Of course he is going to mention Arctic Cat and Polaris; they are the brands that were sponsoring him and Burandt for the past two years and after all they are the primary riders in the Schooled video series. Hey, for what it is worth in the first Schooled video it was ALL Arctic Cat, M series, blah blah blah.

Bret and Chris are both outstanding riders, we all know they could ride any POS and make most of us look bad. As a snowmobile enthusiast I'm just hoping they will continue to make videos and do training clinics that can help chumps like me be a better rider.... and having factory backing is just one of the elements that makes it financially feasible for them to take on such a business venture. So whether it's Doo, Cat, Polaris or Yamaha I can't say I really care. But I wouldn't be surprised if Bret sells a lot of sleds for BRP over the upcoming years..... :face-icon-small-hap
