apparently his agent was shopping him all summer- somebody must have recently bit!! now he wants to pull a montana/namath and get one last big paycheck w/ a different team to "pad the retirement"...

I dont blame him for playing another year. If someone is willing to pay me millions to do something I love...why not?? Sounded like the Ravens were willing to pay up...I would go for it. If he is a "has been" what does that say for over half of the QBs on other teams that he is better than still? Im not a big Packer fan, but you have to give the guy credit for being one of the best in the game and tough as they come.

If he comes back, he'll want to play for a contender. The Bears don't have a chance at him! hehehe The Packers should just let him come back, and try and win the starting job over Rogers.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'm sick of Favre's BS. I'm a diehard packer fan, but enough is enough. Favre has held the team hostage for the past 3-4 offseasons. We have a lot invested in Aaron Rodgers and need to see if he's the answer. I personally don't think so, I'm waiting for Brian Brohm. And this BS about him wanting his unconditional release is crazy. Favre is still under contract to the packers. Yeah, lets release him and get nothing for him, so he can sign with the vikings and we can play him twice a year.
favre hasn't held them hostage, the media has been hyping his retirement for the past 5+ yrs... all during the season the media talks about his pending retirement... imho, they pressured him into it by constantly bringing it up... they needed to STFU and let the guy play and he'd retire when he was damn good an ready to...
by the way, if you've ever seen Rodgers play in person (I go to both home preseason games every year) you would be PRAYING for favre to return, rodgers is a good backup qb, but he aint no starter imho... many other qb's Id take over him in heartbeat...
I never cared for him because he was with the Pac, but if the Queens would have had him they would have won at least two superbowls by now! You have to admit he is tough and plays with heart.

I'd take him in a minute in Chicago. In 5 years he'll still be better than Orton or Grossman. That being said, I doubt the Pack will release him and if they do it will probably be to a team that they don't play twice a year and could possibly face in the playoffs. The Packers are in a pickle, anything they do short of letting him come back and start will get them nothing but problems. The Pack fans at work are already pizzed at upper management.....If he came to the Bears I'd be in heaven for at least one season but I don't see him going anywhere with the Packer Politics....He IS the Packers.

Favre is packer legend for sure but as good as he was the Packers are a far greater team than any one player could ever be! They are the only team in the NFL with a soul Period!!! Favre is just another great player that was lucky enough to play on such a legendary team .
