Wondering if heat cycling is a good way to break in the motor...say 3 heat cycles in the garage, then take it easy first day out. ( sled will be boosted ).

For hest cycling do you just let engine warm up to 160-170ish. then let cool to room temp, then repeat?

thats what i do. gives everything a chance to expand and contract, gaskets to seat and rings to form a little more to the cylinder walls. i know they say no full throttle for the first tank but i've never been able to do that. after about 10 miles i'm ready to pin it to the bars and see what i've bought;) no real long pulls but enough to give you an idea of what you've got to ride for the season...

So I warmed the sled up once unloading it. The second time we were shooting the breeze and I let it get up to 200. Is that to high? I guess I do not have a choice it is done but what do you think?

id say thats a little warm, considering they run at around 120 +/-... i think heat cycling no warmer than 140 is good.
