brake light coming on and off

brake light keeps coming on and off I can see the brake light come on sometimes when I don't even touch the brake and some times the tail light goes right out and comes back on. would this be in the brake switch ? thanks

there is a plug for the tail light underneath the seat and gas tank, i would start by checking it for chaffing and corrosion!

i dont think the power for the TAIL light runs through the brake light switch, if i remember right the brake switch makes a ground contact, instead of a power contact in order to operate the brake light!

I had a similar problem. It turned out to be corroded connectors in the white connector in front of the gas tank. Power is an orange wire with a male contact in the connector that gets it's power from nothing more than a contact connection to the orange wire coming from the VR. The contact connection is made within the white connector (i.e., both male connectors go into the same jack). I looked in the connector on pin side and pushed the dog tab in so that I could pull both male connectors, cleaned them and put them back in.

I had an issue with my fusion that turned out to be the switch in the handlebar block. When it works correctly you can hear a faint click when it opens and closes the switch. Mine quit clicking so I knew it was in my switch. Replaced the switch, all is well now.
