BPR9ES vs BR9ES

The p Indicates that the center electrode protrudes futher into the combustion chamber. In a polaris application A BPR9ES would be the NGK cross over for RN57YCC.

Plug

Projected is correct. If the engine runs real hot the tip may cause preingnition when it gets glowing hot. Rare but possible interference issues. ZIf you have the clearance and the tip on a normal plug wants to foul it may be the best option.

Platinum plugs are designated by the EIX behind the heat range. For example a BPR9EIX would be a projected tip with a platinum electrode. You can run a BR9ES but the burn will not be as efficient. I have also heard that if the gas that you are using is questionable, there will be the possibility of detonation.
