Bozeman to West Yellowstone

When there is a storm in the Island Park, West Yellowstone area. Is it better to access Island Park and West by taking the highway through Ennis? Or do they keep the 191 in good shape all the way to West? We will have a 4 x 4 pulling a 4 place.

191 has always been good when I have been through there, they keep up on it pretty well.

where are you going? if island park i would go thru ennis, way less traffic to deal with, as well as you can drive faster way straighter stretch of road. More than likely encounter icy roads the closer to IP you get.

It's impassible no matter which way you go, so I wouldn't bother coming out; which is fine as we don't want "out of town-er's" tracking up powder. lol

Come through Big sky (191)the roads are always taken care of pretty good
