Borg Warner EFR

I'm looking at building an M1000 around one of Borg Warners new EFR turbos, has anyone had a chance to play with one yet?

Packaging is beautiful, performance seems to be excellent, really nothing not to like...

If so, which one have you run and how has it held up?

A few guys are going to run them or have used them and all feedback has been good so far. I have heard that supply is going to be the problem this winter.

I think Precision EFI is using them in his Polaris kit.

Have you heard which one they were running? I was eying a 7064 as a 3071 equivalent, but the 6758 may be enough with better spool characteristics...

The .83 AR housing on the 7064 seemed like a better match for the 1000 motor

I wasn't aware they were building these. Some very cool features. BOV on the housing, Ti turbine wheel, SS turbine housing, Twin Scrolls on some housing, Boost control valve...

Looks like the 2871 & 2876 is in the middle of a 6758 & 7064 to me. 3071 & 3076 looks closer to a 7670 to me. Not all specs are listed either...

I'm not too familiar with the BW lineup, but when people change out the compressor wheel on their 7.3 Powerstroke for a Wicked Wheel (BW) its not know for its efficiency compared to the Garrett, but does remove some surge. The maps look comparable though....

Any idea of what kind of $$$ these will be going for?

I thought the efr's were down on lbs. in the lower range compared to a garrett. Thats why I stuck with a garrett instead of trying one. Well that and price/availability. I looked into them awhile back so things may have changed.

There are a couple companies using them with good success. They cost a couple hundred more than a garrett, but when your consider that they come with a billet impeller, built in BOV and stainless steel turbine housing they are a much better value. There are distributors and dealers in every state, so availability shouldnt be a problem.

6255 is a problem to get...6258 is a problem to get(in large quantity anyway!)
very nice turbo and strongly build. pricing in canada is around 1600$ for a single one and 1300$ if 10 or more....didin't check in the states. we have some in stock if you need anything.
