Boosted XP800R ready for the pow!!!

the glow-sh1ts didnt last/? how supprising..

anywhoooo.. randy, how does it work.. im hoping to see an impressive sled when i get back for x-mas.. you better have it dialed, the south fork is probably plenty deep methinks.

Awesome Nick!!! Jetting dialed in and 14lbs Boost. On a stripped, super light sled, Mountain Tamer, 14lbs boost it's crazy!!! Rode Mt. Aneaus in 70 inches, up hill, East of the cabin, through the trees and GAIN SPEED, steep up-hill, in pow over the hood !!! Have to let off the gass to slow down in deep pow, going up-hill!!! Crazy!!! Track speed is hard to read, too busy hanging on, but the needle is in the 9-oclock position which is between 70 and 80mph.

no its not it is 101.5 max, its been tested here http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=15711&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

100LL =100 Low Lead, Which actually has more than double the lead of standard race gas, look at the buildup of it on the tops of your pistons at the end of the year! Its just low in the standards that it used to be in the aircraft industry.

Lead is a lubricant, although you should mix about 100/1 premix with it which you should be doing anyway in a two stroke turbo to make up for the extra gas you are running through your engine without changing the oil curve.

My supercharged xp engages at 3000, I dont miss those turbo days, or the laaaagggg that went with it!

happy sledding!

I always run 1oz pre-mix, per gallon of fuel. About 100/1 in addition to injection oil. The extra lube is a MUST at 1250 degrees.

XP Turbo

MT Doo glad to hear that you have plenty of snow could you share some with all of us. Good to hear that you are enjoying your Turbo Performance Turbo XP.

I agree. I have been running 100LL Avgas since 2002 in my turbo. No problems at all, 12 lbs boost, 5500~10K elevation.

I love my turbo, but wouldn't mind trying a RIPcharger out. I wonder if it will be like the 4stroke guys.....Big boost & race= turbo OR Pump gas & low boost= supercharger??? Maybe theres some middle ground too???

great looking ride, if you don't mind me asking how difficult was it to install motocross hand guards on your XP, any special methods I need to know about before I try it on my sled....I have been wanting to do this for a long time....no more knuckle bashing.

You have to drill out the handle bar a little bigger, shorten the expander nut and do a little bending on the handguards to get them to fit correctly. They are absolutely awsome! Great knuckle busters for tree riding!

How do these hold up? I have been a turbo 4 stroke guy. How fast are these bad boys?

Thank you Matt

It works perfectly! This much horsepower on a light-weight mountain sled is INSANE. As for fast? It is scary fast!

Hey guys, I havn't kept this up-dated in a while. Riding hard now and will keep the XP turbo info updated.

The pkg is dialed in and incredible!!! I rode with some buddies with extended chain cases, 3" paddles on monster 174's. They also have modded motors to turn all that track.

Long story short is my "little" 163" x 2 and 1/2 track with a track speed of between 70 and 80 completely killed them. We weren't mindless blasting up open slopes, but tetnical riding in 3 feet of pow on super steep faces covered with trees. One buddy on a 174" modded motor sled said, "not only can we NOT follow you, but we can't even poach your track and follow you!!!

There is absolutly nothing like boosted power on a mountain sled. I will post some pic's and vid of an 800R for the guys curious about how they work.
Thanks "Turbo Performance"!!!!

Nice! Taking mine out tomorrow. Hopefully got all the bugs worked out. Hey what gears are you guys running?

I'm running a 19 tooth primary, and stock secondary. With gearing down you actually GAIN track speed. With a 19 tooth primary, the sled will top out across a long lake or road at only about 80 to 83 mph. Plenty fast though. The advantage is with the lower primary gear and all the horsepower available, you can hold a track speed in the 70's in deep pow. If you run taller gears, the sled will top out at about 100 mph, but geared high, you only hold a track speed in the 60's in the deep pow. Hope this helps ! :face-icon-small-hap

mtn - doo my gearing is similar to yours

I see you have a steep helix in your secondary - good choice

Thanks Bryce for all the help on setup

total weight came in at 490 dry on my boosted 163 4 stroke doo

I am very happy with the machine and advice given by Turbo Boyz on this sled

Quick up-date. Been pounding the deep stuff in some real steep country, all tree riding. Avy danger has been real bad.
Turbo Performance Boost in the steepest, nastiest country is more fun than should be allowed !!!!
If we ever get some blue sky, I'll post some pic's and vid.
This thing has been running flawlessly. Everything is dialed. If you're not on Boost, you don't know what you're missing!!!

Hey MTN Doo, I joined the Skidoo turbo crowd in MT. Thanks for posting all of the info up, it really helped in my decision to buy--pm's w/ Bryce also helped, this deal was just to good to pass up or I probably would have waited til next year and gotten a Turbo Boyz kit, they really seem to be taking an interest in the kits they have out there. Picked mine up used. It has a Peak Performance Turbo kit, the owner, Rick has been great to visit w/ and answered all of my questions and concerns. Should be a great year.

Bring the XP to Lewistown so we can let the XP's at each other for the drags during the MT Winter Fair. Elevation is 4000' and we'll be running 500'.

thats actually a resonable time for the size of video and the quality you uploaded it in.. other then your internet connection, its kidna life dealin with youtube.. not the fastest thing on the net..
oh yeah, and that thing looks pretty freakin insane fun.
