Boost-It Nypex

I got a chance to rip on Neils nypex on the weekend, hands down the sweetest sled ive ever rode! anyone know where I can find a 4 banger motor? lol. No more 3 bangers for this guy after that!

I saw you shifting gears on a boosted 4 holer the other day, looked pretty sweet.:face-icon-small-win

I had the chance to ride both Dukes and NM's sleds! Thats by far the smoothest riding Nytro ive ever been on and nothing beats the sound of a pant melting side pipe. Haha. They both flat out rip and they didnt spend the whole day trying to tune them. Boost it works!!

This is my understanding, although over 50 cc small than the Nytro motor the 4 banger Apex makes more horsepower (about 20 more hp stock). The Apex motor has been used by Yamaha for a long time and is as bulletproof as they come, it was used in bikes back in the 90's, and it makes great top end hp. The Nytro motor was built or refined for sledding and is a faster reving motor and produces more torque. The Nytro hits peak hp 2000 rpm quicker than the Apex motor making it ideal for mountain riding (nytro hits peak at 8000 rpm vs Apex at 10,000).

Beautiful sled!!!!! What are the main differences from the 3 banger to the 4???

I really like the gear change the apex has within the motor, clutches just seem to run smoother than a nytro. anyone know what actual clutch rpm would be compared to a nytro?

man that water to air sure makes allot more room under there love how clean it is compared to my nytro looks like a turbosmart race port 50mm bov monster:face-icon-small-hap.

So what is everyones take on Water to air intercooler? What are the benifets of them? Why aren't more people running them? Do they actually have lower charged temps then air to air? I would think in the cold winter air the air to air would be pretty cold?

Does it spool faster then air to air?

Air To Air works well and is simple but you need a good flow of cold air through it, great for lake running providing the intercooler is out in the air upfront

. After you turbo your compressed charge can heat up past 250 degrees, you are making a wack of power and your track is whaling but in deep snow you probably are not moving to fast or not at all. A heat exchanger in the tunnel is going to get blasted with snow, the snow could also be colder than the ambient air temp. A well set up air to water system can be extremely efficient, a sled providers a great environment for a water to air intercooler. You will see more and more kits available for sleds.

another reason most of the kit makers havnt used them is because they cost more to make than the air to air.

Normally how cool is the water coming from the Ucooler?? I take it the water goes from the Ucooler to the intercooler then to the motor? Do guys run without a radiator?

Nice 4 into 1 header....

Hi who made the header? what turbo?

It is an Alpine prototype header, they have a jig set up to build more. Its designed so the turbo sits in a similar position as the Alpine nytro. Allows the use of the Alpine Nytro tank and Mountain Mod seat. Very clean look IMO.
