I just installed pauls pump gas kit on my nytro and everything good but i was wondering if i should show a little boost at idle like 1 or 2 psi or when should it start to build boost? i never tried crankin up the boost controler yet would that do it? i guess i am looking for a good start point this is my first set up so i am still learnin.

You should actually show a vacuum, not any boost at an idle. and even when you put it on a stand you will not show a lot of boost until you get the sled under a load.
Cheers:beer;

What if your boost gauge is hooked to a fitting on the intercooler? Would it still show vac? Is it very minimal like maybe only 1-2" of vac? Maybe a cheap 20.00 boost gauge wouldnt show this? Eric

OMG - not this again:D. I damn near pissed my pants when I saw the title of this post. Any of you remember the "famous" boost at idle war?:eek:

i make boost at idle!!!!

but no, you wont see any, unless your boost gauge is somehow hooked inside your compressor! even then i doubt it.

...is someone fishing? :P

My Prologger shows vac (or, as it displays, "negative" boost)..

No they were honest questions. Just did a turbo install but used a cheap gauge on it. Didnt have vac or boost at idle. Fitting is in the intercooler.

I just didnt understand how/why you would have any vac unless your gauge port was somehwere after the throttle plates. Eric
