I'm running an older silber set up in a 15 pro 163. At 5000-10000ft. I'm running 5psi. With no timing change. Currently running about a 10% mix of 110 race fuel. (probably more than I need) say I wanted to run 7psi or higher what should I change my timing to? Either ecu flash or a BD key. (1-3°) not sure how I'd get the ecu flash for just timing.
IF you retard timing you can start to reduce cylinder pressure. Reducing cylinder pressure will reduce torque. You reduce torque you need more boost. You see where I'm going with this. Retarding timing is not always the answer. Run stock timing at 7LBS with proper Octane mix. For your altitude shoot for 95 octane either with RG or AV mix. Should run strong. Pulling timing makes the sled feel all rippy and fast on the trail (HP) but when you put it into the deep snow with big pulls and it really has to go to work... It feels like its laying down up top ( No Torque). IMO. Pulling timing is a bandaid to run pump fuel.
