Boondockers Nytro Kit!!

You just bring that baby up here. Let me look it over, give me 8-12 weeks. I am thinking around April 15th. I will have it back to you, set up, broke in, and I'll have pictures. No charge of course!:beer;

I wonder why they would run that hugeass exhaust out the back, why not a tunnel dump ? Much lighter, quieter on snow, packing gas and the list goes on.

looks like a nice kit otherwise, im sure it will rip !

Well, I would guess for now they are trying to make it fit in the stock location. As it sits, it looks completely stock behind the seat...?

It sounds good though.....Louder than stock, but not obnoxious. We'll see how it sounds once there is some boost to it though.

The kit went together fairly well. We were missing a bunch of small fittings. But I figure no two people are going to install these the same, so we did things the way we wanted them, and got the parts to do so.
We have just some small things to finish, and hope to run it up and do some tuning tomorrow afternoon.........

Install time so far is 18hrs for two guys. One doing the critical stuff, and one helping and running to the hardware store, lol! It is running, but needs programmed, clutches, and panels placed.

The fitment of the parts they supplied has been fantastic. Much better then the fitment of my Apex. The compressor side of the turbo is cramped. A lot going on there will a little amount of space. The tank is a little rough in my opinion. This is the only spot I am not completely happy with. It works, but leaves gaps that I don't like....
The design I feel is really well thought out. We are going to switch our radiator fan to come on when the machines running. So it will always pull air through the radiator, but more important, through the inter-cooler, and to keep air moving around the turbo. Heat will be an issue you have to take care of. Similar to what the Alpine guys need to do with the Apex.
Like I mentioned before, the kit was missing a lot of parts, all little things, but things nevertheless.
I will be giving Junior from Boondockers a shout once I am totally done, with a breakdown of what was missing. I would hope they will include all the parts from here on out?

Still have not seen a kit like MCX, they are still on the ball more than others. Only thing I dont like on MCX kit is the instructions, but the second year is always better. I wish I could hear others thoughts on this issue as well. BD seems as though its a cut, chop, make fit, gray area kinda kit.

my 2 cents

Well, it might sound like that, but its not the case.
We rode three Nytro's all with different turbos, looked at all the kits available, and still chose to wait for this kit. None of the kits that are mid mounts are refined like this one. We are not interested in rear mounts.

Gaz, maybe tomorrow afternoon...

the one thing you have too remember about mcx is they get the very first sled to turbo they are working on there kits in the fall the year before the model is out they do allot of work for yammi, like build there nytro race motors.plus mcx has been building turbo kits for many years in bikes & that helps with there designing of the kits.

Boondockers has had a Nytro since spring as well. It shows that those who can do that definitely have the upper hand in development.
