Boondocker Capture Feature?

Current BD RG turbo numbers

50 psi fuel pressure just above idle. --EDIT - discoverd 3-6-10 that my fuel pressure drops to 43psi at higher boost, so these numbers won't be useful for anyone - time to fix it.--
-------Low Mid Hi
PSI L 9 33 43
PSI H 15 25 52

others are zeroes unless noted
3000 Low -4
5000 Low-2
6700 Mid 2
7800 Mid 20
8600 Mid 22

Exv 9 140 RPM=On 5500-7550

I didn't mess with these settings, but they are:

ACEL AL DR SN=8

DCEL DR=5 SN=10

I was getting a lean miss/bog at 7900-8000 mid EGT's 1250-1280.
EGT's got hotter as I added fuel initially (1380 for a second on one pull), so I figure it was REALLY lean for some reason. EGT's finally cooled off to 1250 when I got to 18, so added 2 more & it ran awesome.

I got all the hot spots out of the low & mid 5000-7000 range while playing with the EXV setting on my cruise back to the trailer.

I tried to look at my fuel pressure a couple times while at 9lbs of boost, but that little gauge was hard to read while moving. I'm pretty sure the pressure was still around 50 lbs. The fuel pressure should go up 1 pound for every pound of boost right? I'll have to try & look at that next trip out more closely.

I'm really pleased with the way it is running now, but I haven't been able to do any tuning in the HI range.
I still have BigHoe's numbers from a few posts back saved in map3, but my midrange was so lean (for some reason?), that I didn't want to risk loading that map.

It's really close now, so I think I'll get it dialed the rest of the way in pretty quickly next trip, but I'm all ears if anyone has suggestions.

Looking at how much fuel you are adding I'm just wondering if your sled came through the race department, possibily before it was turboed?

Nevermind, I got the answer. When you get your new ECU, you need to start over with the fuel that you added to the RPM ranges. Start back at zeros with the original PSI numbers that I gave you or that Boondocker suggests. You currently have a ECU with the Race Department Fuel Mapping in it. Your base fuel map is different from a production 2008 M8 so the regular starting numbers are way off. The new ECU should have a 2009 stock map in it so the numbers that people post up should work much better for you.

Matt after I talked with Joe on his ride up Cooke I forgot your sled was from the race team thus the reason you have the high BD numbers never put two and two together.

I noticed that you are adjusting your ACEL and DCEL numbers as well as your EXV numbers. I was told by boondocker that these don't need adjusted. Was curious how much this affected your sled?? and also once your back to a stock fuel map on your ECU did you have to go back and adjust those values or were you able to leave them the same?? I got my to run reliable just trying to get the fine tuning down without burning mine down again!!!!

I did not adjust the ACEL & DCEL numbers. I just posted them in case one of the BD gurus wondered what they were. Since BD changed the CR setting a bunch for the 2010 season, I thought there may be some updated ACEL DCEL numbers as well. These were the settings in the box when it came back from boondocker Summer '09 after being updated to ADA. ACEL AL=0 DR=0 SN=8 : DCEL DR=5 SN=10

Why did I activate EXV? I was getting a hot spot cruising back to the trailer in LOW at 5500-6500 possibly due to my unique ECU fuel mapping. I could manage it by varying the throttle (A LOT), but I didn't want to worry about it when I let other people on the sled. I added fuel to 5000 & 6700 low but it started to bog at about 4500. I tried adding fuel to PSI Low instead & caused MAJOR bog when coming onto boost in powder. I turned the RPM on & added fuel to the EXV setting to get the hot spot under control & then subtracted some fuel from PSI Low to clean up a little bog that I created by adding to exv. I adjusted each (PSI Low & EXV) a couple points at a time and it cleaned up great. Now I get to start over with the new ECU, but it should be easy considering all the experience I gained on the last trip.

Other people may whine about BD boxes being too complicated, but I appreciate having the ability to capture & dial in the finer details.

Forgot the other part of your question. I haven't ridden & tuned with my new ECU yet. I'll be starting over with BD's 2010 numbers next week. I'll try BigHoe's numbers too & see how those work for me.
