boondocker box?

I have a basic understanding of what a boondocker box does, but interested in a better understanding of it. I'm going to run a slp kit on my 09 hcr, and am leaning towards a box, even though you don't need it. Will I gain better performance from runnning one? What does it control exaclty. oil, fuel flow, air? I''v been riding for a long time, but really don't know anything above regular maintaince on a sled. How complicated is it to tune one and keep it running? Any info would be great. Tim.

"All" the boondocker does is help control the amount of fuel your engine receives, programmable by you based upon the needs of whatever mods you have. Also controls nitrous, etc...if you don't need it, don't get it. Don't think you'll see that much improvement.

If it will run without the box, then the fuel that it needs is there. The only gains you would see would be from pulling fuel from the low end to clean things up, but the M8 does a phenomenal job of running fat, so you're not going to see much change.

If you do go with a box, then you need egt's, you have to spend time tuning, and you take a chance of burning down if you're not careful.
