bone?

Nada in Bone. You may have to drive closer to Caribou Mtn to find snow. I've gone as far as the usual snowmobilers parking lot. I have no desire to try to drive my truck any further than where they post the road closed sign.

Although a bit of a longer drive, go to Big Springs in IP. There's trails and some big open fields to teach/play in.

Go right before the parkinglot and head towards the girls camp. We have rode 6x this year up there. We try to go there 1x a week after work for a night ride. The girls camp has more snow then you would think. I thought same thing when I went up there that there wasnt enough snow but once you get in there you will be suprised.

Or you could do what Richracer1 said head towards I.P. or go to poker peak.

I am new to the area and havent done any sledding here at all, can someone tell me how to get to the Bone store? Thanks, my wife n I plan on riding there tomorw. We live in Menan but will probably go to IF to get to the Bone area since we still dont yet know the area. Thanks again.

Go to IF. If you go South of the Mall to Sunnyside Road, head East to the foothills. Keep going past the landfill at the top of the hill. About 3 miles past that take the road to the right at the intersection.
That is the Bone road. Dont take it as an exact mileage but about 17 miles in you'll see a little building on the right with a gas pump in front. Thats the Bone store.
The parking lot is a mile two past the Bone store.

I went up to bone tonight to take a look around. I think it took me 20 minutes from Idaho falls to get there. Give me a PM with your number and I will call you I might be taking my son riding up there tommorow and I could show you around.

Bone was good tday

Well, we found the bone area and the trails had decent powder. We didnt kno the area but found sum good places to play in. My wife rolled her sled twice and once the sled rolled over body, shes OK, jus a bruised leg and now a lil scared of the machine. It was fun. Will post pics tnite on this same thread. Thanks everyone for the directions.

Anybody know if it would be worth it to ride the bone area on Saturday. As i understand it it's been quite warm in the Idaho Falls area this week.
thanks

Bone sucked today, dont go until we get snow again, was good until the main trails got groomed, now its hard packed. did see an elk carcuss on the side of trail goin to palasades with a big cat munchin down on it, he hissed at me so I turned around and called it a day.

You shouldve called me I would have rode with ya. How far up was the elk carcus?

Long Valley rd about halfway to the next Y. didnt look at the mileage. Carcus was on the left. Long Valley rd was decent at times with huge drifts across the road, at other times it was icy and you could see the red mud on the road. going up to the W was not good at all after getting groomed.

I drove up there today to take a look around and there was less snow now then when I was hunting up there. I have rode up there 6x this year and there is less now then there was then. I was thinking taking my dirtbike up there for crying out loud.
