what's the difference between stock pro rmk boards and the burandt boards. wondering if they are worth it for the 2014. i have a buyer lined up for the stock boards for $175

Yes, the burandt boards are powder coated black. But in addition to this they are alot beefier, thicker material and the cross patches are thicker.

I have seen stock boards bent and cracked badly, so if you ride hard and weigh more than average then go for the burandt boards!

good to know. I'd be happy to pay 75 for stronger boards

They are the same exact extrusion, Coated so snow does not stick, and have smaller windows with wider cross bars...

The thickness of the board and the outer rail are the same dimensions...

They are a stronger board.

When I changed out a set of damaged boards this winter I noticed that the inner lip that is attached to the tunnel was thicker on the burandt boards, this was also the area that was bent and caused the cross patches to break off.

I took a picture of it also, it is not the best pic but you can se the difference in the left side. Is this the Coating causing this difference? I have a set of both in the garage, will take a better pic later:)

Looks thicker to me...That is part of the board that is milled post-extrusion...I've learned something today.

Good point.

.

Other differences

One other thing I just noticed from the posted photos is the Burandt boards edge traction lugs are longer and stager milled where the stock boards are shorter and straight milled. Also the Burandt's look to have a groove milled in the traction cleats on each bridge where the stock boards bridges are narrower and left full. Now if we could just talk Polaris into hydrophobic hard anodizing the Burandt boards or selling the Burandt boards un-coated so I would not have to strip them and re-heat treat them. Until then I'll run the stock boards.

So what is the pricing of a pair of Burant Boards verses the standard boards?.I want to put some on my 11.

The stock boards are allmost 190 per side but the complete burandt kit with cutting templates for the stock pre 2013 boards is 300.

In other words, unless you get your hands on a take off set of stock 2013 boards the burandt boards will be cheaper:)
