Blue skies, Tons of pow, and HIGH Avy Danger.

It's going o be VERY hard to stay home today.

But I think it's the smart thing to do.

Who else is stayin home today cause of the high avy danger?

I am with ya. It is really tough to stay home today with the weather like this and DEEEEP snow.
But you would have a workout riding in the flats today, do not need the big hill.

Of course I hurt my back thursday up there--so really do not have a choice today:(

Those who go up---BE safe, Be SMART.

H20SKE...

Yeah, I think if I were to even find some flat, "safe" area it would still be a giant stuck fest, no grooming anywhere, and I'd be riding with my wife. That sounds like a bad combination.

But I just know this will be the last sunny saturday I see till spring. Well, maybe not but it seems like it.

This sucks!!!

Im with ya boy's.......... I wanted to go up last wed. thurs. and fri. Im going nuts here. But better safe than sorry! Will possibly try it in the AM.

Rob.

Well, I'm going to enjoy the sunshine and snow one way or another. The wife and I are going for a drive with the camera.

Enjoy the day eveyone!

AND STAY SAFE !

i love this exerpt from the nwac:

...The current snowpack structure will not be forgiving of mistakes, and will not react kindly to high marking, aggressive recreating or big air landings...

dang... its like they know me or something.

We decided to stay home also. Sounds very dangerous and a stuckfest anyway. Sno parks closed too. I like the part about foot penetration at shoulder to head height and suffocation being a real concern, WOW!

I just got back from a drive with my wife up hiway 2.
We only had to go to Skykomish to see snow that was over head height.
I have lived here outside of Monroe for 14 years and I have NEVER seen it this deep, so low.

Saw a small truck with a sled trailer parked way down at the hiway level at a place we go shooting during the warmer months.
I might have to go try that spot and see how deep it is up top. There is a large logged out area up there but with a lot of stumps.
If the snow is deep enough up there to make the stumps a little more forgiving it might be worth a shot.

But as for the original question?
Yah...We stayed home too.

Damn Global Warming.

I stayed home today for the family and some stuff and it was painful. Just got reports from everyone about how great it was. Thing you've got to remind yourself is that there will always be other great days. I've had a good 20+ deep powder rides since it started dumping in December. Today would've been great, or maybe today would've sucked. Either way, tomorrow is another day and there will be plenty more great days. Haven't heard of any Avy, creek, or tree emergencies yet, lets hope it stays that way.

Went for a drive. Did some bird watching. I know.... but I got major wife points.

Plus we actually got a couple cool shots.

And were home safe. Thats a plus.

Snow was stable today and the riding was killer at baker. Only a few others besides myself that went left. It was windlblown pretty good higher up and the snow started to set up in the second half the day from the heat. I'll post some pics if i can figure out how to.

didn't head to the mountains.

decided to ride in the fields today, headed over to davenport from spokane. 6 foot drifts. unbelievable snow for a place that rarely gets any kind of a winter. unbeliebable riding on those roller coaster fields. will be heading back in a month or so.
