Blue Marble Oil

the cheapest ISO-EGD that I can find here is the Shell Advanced Snow-Utra
almost half the price of Klotz

At our shop we reccomend and use Torco syn. Never had an oil related failure and the power valve look great. Plus no smoke.:D

found this on blue marble web site

Will Blue Marble® 2-Cycle Oil void my warranty?
The federal law called the “Magnuson Moss Warranty Act of 1974” states that no manufacturer can require you to use their components (oil, etc.) to maintain the factory warranty unless they provide, at no charge during the said warranty period, such product free of charge. Most manufacturers state that the oil you use must meet or exceed the equivalent of specific testing procedures (i.e., TC-W3®, JASO, etc.). Blue Marble® High Performance 2-cycle oil meets or exceeds the specifications of JASO FD, TC-W3®, and ISO EGD.

So from what I'm seeing it is different depending on the set-up and sled. Like anything else in this industry if used right and the way its ment to be used then it will work like its supposed to. Some people had problems which anyone that has been in this sport for any amount of time know that it is very much part of the game and sometimes a product has a problem or there is a problem in the way it was used.

All I'm saying is that there are a lot of us that have had good luck with it and some that had bad luck with it like about anything else you'll never know until you try it.

One thing to keep in mind is that it is a mineral oil not a castor or synthetic and should be treated accordingly its runs different than the others. In my experience I'm not going to be using anything but BM in the near future and I know a lot of Utah turbo hounds that feel the same way, maybe its just ment to be run on high performance sleds running race/av gas.

Ran it for years on 2 Arctic 04 900's and never had a problem. Wife and I rode those 2 sleds for 2000 miles a year and only cleaned the valves once a season and that was at the end. Ran the oil from day one and was amazed. Replaced the pistons on my wife's 9 after 5000 miles and they looked fine but thought it was time. At 6000 miles I did the crank on mine, ported the cylinders, did pistons and the shop that did the work was impressed with how things looked. So impressed they started selling BM over other brands. Ran both sleds a couple more 1000 miles each then sold them, both people that have them now said they are running strong.
Was running Torco semi-synthetic before on a 02 800 AC and an 03 600 AC and I'd have to clean the valves 2-3 times a year.

Just my experience... I now ride 4 strokes so it I can't say if BM changed anything or not.
