blewett

Anyone wanna let me in on how Blewett is doing this year, ive heard that you have to get up there early to get any parking, but is it worth the drive im coming out of Poulsbo so its a long drive. I went up a couple of years ago but it was a total bummer no climbing unless you wanted to climb rock slides.

many climb areas are nothing but rock slides...take a look at Baker in the Summer or Cooke City...you will be surprised to see what you are riding on.

Blewitt...you need to be in the lot on weekends no later than 0800hrs...by
8:30 it is full. There have been quite a few tree huggers using the lot this year. Theya re totally clueless as to how to read signs...they will park right in front of the no parking in turn around sign. I have pics with lisc. plates from last weekend. Thenk they will park a foot from the back of your sled deck and another one a foot in front of your rig...very common there. The parking lot was a zoo last weekend....those that park on the other side please, please pull forward up to the parrell of the stop sign line painted on the assphault. There should be room for a 2nd row. If you have a drive off you dont need 10ft between rigs either.

Lately the area has been gettiignsome snow but has had some warm temps down low. Most of the better areas are tracked up big time(thanks to Myself, Bobnoxious and a few others that tear it up during the week. Even Friday was a packed day in the lot.

There are a good number of play areas there but you have to explor and find them.

Pulsbo!!! Wow. YOu will have to be on the road by 4-4:30 if you want a parking spot!!

Good meadow riding. not much in the name of big hills, Some but not like the central cascades.

you would be better off to come over the night before..have a dinner and a good breakfast and get some rest and have a good day riding!

I live in Sequim-about another hour drive. I have done the trip often (couple time a year) and its not bad. For me--right at 4-4.25 hours.

Funny story (a learning experience for sure). My boy and I head out early one morning(he was 12 at the time). We make it all the way past Cle Elum to about 5 miles from the snow park and I am going over the check list with my boy to make sure he has everything. I am going over the snow conditions and the avy report like we do before every ride and he gets this "oh crap" look on his face. Needless to say the tears start flowing. He forgot his beacon at home. The avy danger was "HI" for the day. Now I am stuck--do we ride and show my boy a very poor choice or do we head home and not ride. Mind you we are planning to ride that day, spend the night in Cle Elum and ride again the next. I had to man up and head home. He felt like crap needless to say. Four hour drive there and then another 4 hours home and didn't get to ride.
We get home and my wife says--hey there is still tomorrow. I take a little nap at home and we head to Cle Elum for the night and ride the next day. The weather sucked the next day and we got a total of 2 1/2 hours riding before he was cold and wet for 16 hours driving.
He hasn't forgotten his beacon again though.
FUN TIME just the same. I still got an entire weekend with my boy--its all good.

Blewitt is one of my favorite places to ride. You can head out through the trees for what seems like forever in several directions. Not a lot of huge climbing but great fun for all.
