I installed a taller handlebar riser and had to re-route the brake line. Any advice / pitfalls or a general "how to" on bleeding the brakes on a Summit Rev would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Fill the resevoir with DOT 3, screw the cover down, pump the lever until you get some resistsnce, crack the bleeder on the caliper, slowly squeeze the lever, tighten the bleeder before you bottom the lever, do this until no air bubbles come out.

When I did the same on mine it took very little bleeding because I capped the hose as soon as I took it off to re-route it.

I have also had good luck with just filling the res. leave the cap off, and
s l o w l y squeezing the lever so it did not shoot fluid out the res and let the bubbles come up into the res. after a while the bubbles stop flowing up and your system's bled.
Just put the cap back on and you're done.

NAPA also sells a brake bleeder that is a clear plastic tube with a one-way valve on the end and works great for one-person brake bleeding.

When you are finished take a large ruber band or a bungie and leave the break lever squeezed over night. This will force any last little air bubbles to the top.
