i have the storm. my brother and sister in law have the curve and both of my parents have the pearls and we have all had good luck with them.

I have had a pearl for 2 years now and it has been thru he11 and back. Looks like it too but still works and EZ to use. One day I drop it in a pond (while talking on it). It was in about a foot of water and I could see the screen was still on. Reached in and grabbed it, shook it hard to get the water off and the guy was still talking. I said "I gotta go" and immedietely ripped the battery out and put it on the defroster vents of the truck for 1/2 hour and still works.

They are a nice tool to access emails when you might be on the golf course, in the Goose blind, or if you are lucky and have cell service sledding. I had some problems similar to what is described, but taking out the battery for a minute or two and rebooting always seemed to cure them.
Don't know how many times I woke up and could not get back to sleep and ended up doing a seach in bed looking at the posts in SnoWest. It is amazing what you can learn from this forum. I think the wife thinks I am looking at **** laying there with the blackberry lit up, but it just ain't so. Probably could try to wake her up for some romance, but I don't usually bring any cash to bed with me.
Don't give up on your Blackberry just yet.

You should have a certain amount of time to take the phone back and get one you actually like. With my cell provider I have at least 2 weeks to return a phone. Look into it.
Our son has the Blackberry Pearl and loves it. I have the iPhone and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Have a pearl and it is a love hate relationship. Once you figure out how to use it is great. The problem I have is that it never stops RING RING RING, email email email, text message text message text message and PIN PIN PIN. Oh I cannot wait to shut if off in 6 days for 5 days. I hate it. But then I love it, it is very easy to use, oh wait I have a message stand by oh wait, I hate it
The syndrome is easy to identify, your thumbs get larger from typing and you cannot drop it. It's not a Blackberry, it's a Crackberry.
Greatest POS ever developed. Keeps you closer to work then you ever thought possible, in fact it is even known for F$%king up family vacations. Love mine
Oh I forgot to tell you that when you are in a place that does not get cell service this POS still gets email and text messages. Nothing like Screwing up a good weekend of riding sleds and the POS still gets emails.

Started with a Palm Treo and ended up with a Blackberry (company supplies). I hated the blackberry when I first got it but after a week or so, it is easler to use than the Treo. Mine works great. Get rid of the extra applications that you don't use and it'll be a much better phone.

I learning to live with this thing now. When it starts the goofy stuff I take the battery out, have a beer and a dip of Cope to calm down, and then things are all good again (but I think I may be becoming an alcoholic!). My service is though Telus, the customer service has been less than stellar!
